Eeep, flea! And you got that nice round 8000 post number too.
I looked at the house I grew up in, although I drive by it from time to time when up north. My mother never drove down the street again after she sold it, which I get, but she also liked when I would let her know it looked good. Anyway, the pine tree that was there when I was a kid is still there, about twice as tall as the 2 story house. It's older than me! eta: I wish that the picture had been taken in the Spring because the tree on the right side of the house is a lilac and can be quite showy. [link]
The rule in my house is that dirty dishes are in the sink, rinsed dishes can be on the counter or put in the dishwasher. Everyone knows it is a rule, pretty much no one actually follows this rule.
Good luck, flea. It'll blow over soon? Which is good or bad?
Hey Dana, missing early morning meetings yet? We can always create a nonsensical circular conversation if it helps.
Hee. I am very peacefully waking up anywhere between 7:30 and 9, depending on when I get to sleep.
Nice. Before taking a new position it might be a good idea to ask the company policy of conference calls.
I can't wait for that to be me, Dana!!
Also I am with Laura on dirty dishes go in the sink not on the counter. I'm definitely worst about it when I don't have a roommate though (leaving things in the sink I mean)
{{{flea}}} We'll love you no matter what

Yeah, that's right -- if I lived with people who cared about dishes in the sink I would be better about it!
Oh and flea, that's so exciting but also scary! Glad you've got a place to retreat to online :)
I live in the house I grew up in, thanks to Mom never moving, me moving back in when her health started getting bad, and inheriting. It's got a lot of weird feelings tied up in it, since being in my childhood bedroom, with my childhood stuff, is kinda complicated. But hey, also the only way I could afford property in Southern California, so there's that.
And living alone, the dishes sit until I feel like moving them. When anyone else is staying with me, I'm much more conscientious about moving them to the dishwasher.
