Just finished a Facebook chat with my sister, who's in the airport in Salt Lake on a layover. A friend who is on a trans-Atlantic cruise has been sending me pictures. The future is an amazing place.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

We have things now that were futuristic science fiction when we were kids. It's amazing.

Remember how amazing the moving billboards in Blade Runner seemed? Now it's "Oh, lord, does it come with an off switch? It's 2 AM!"

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

I drive around picking up strangers all the time, so I'm definitely living the dream, such as it is/was.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

I just discovered the HGTV app on my smart tv. I am watching Restored by The Fords for the first time. Are they high ALL the time? or do people in Pittsburgh just all sound high?

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

WOOHOO! HANDS UP IF YOU'VE BEEN AWAKE SINCE 3:30! A.M.!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I am now grateful not to be raising my hands. Phew!

Before work, I went to pick up some soda someone was giving away on my local free stuff group, and it turns out to be expired, but we'll see. Anyway, doing that meant I took the quicker way to work, and that was a good move because I forgot I am having breakfast with my new VP in five minutes! Not just me, he's doing these with small groups, and I'm assuming people will trickle in, but still.

Ann, that's a ferret.

We have things now that were futuristic science fiction when we were kids. It's amazing.

Not just "have things" -- we take things for granted. When I was in college, I read stories (mostly in Analog) centering on the Internet as something the general public could use. Now, I can't imagine life without it.

Punishingly Intricate

I'm so sorry for everything you're dealing with with mac, msbelle.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

So the VP breakfast was pretty interesting, but man, people went on and on in the "go around the room and tell me about yourself" portion. Not knowing what the format was going to be, I had prepared questions for the VP, not my life story! Unlike some people, apparently.
