We have things now that were futuristic science fiction when we were kids. It's amazing.
Not just "have things" -- we take things for granted. When I was in college, I read stories (mostly in Analog) centering on the Internet as something the general public could use. Now, I can't imagine life without it.
I'm so sorry for everything you're dealing with with mac, msbelle.
So the VP breakfast was pretty interesting, but man, people went on and on in the "go around the room and tell me about yourself" portion. Not knowing what the format was going to be, I had prepared questions for the VP, not my life story! Unlike some people, apparently.
Holy crap, my coworker is sheltering in place at home because there was an armed bank robbery!
Wow, that's quite a good excuse to be late for work!
I am waiting on a Lyft to head downtown but it's taking forever. Have to juggle about 18 million things and I don't want to and can't. Uuuuuugh I hate work.
Yes, I drove through Davis Square on the way home, and All The Police were there, as well as 6 helicopters. Jesse lives about a quarter mile from all this, BTW, and Jon not all that much further.
Oh yeah -- I didn't say my home is close to my coworker's home! Heh.
I guess I should have called my mother.
That is a lot of excitement.
I'm in my mid-afternoon slump. Just about every day I feel like a nap at this time, but I don't nap. Never have been able to.
Yikes! Stay safe everyone!
I am working from home and I napped for a bit this morning and that was a terrible mistake = seemed like hours of that horrible paralysis nightmare. Actually minutes or even seconds, I'm sure, but most unpleasant. But I'm awake now and actually have work to do AND somehow won an HQ quiz by guessing at almost every answer. Twenty-three cents, y'all, my total is up into folding money!
That's quite a roller coaster, -t!

I have suddenly been able to nap! I didn't even nap as a kid. But now I can close my eyes for a while (10 minutes, even) and sort of fall 3/4 asleep, and it's really refreshing.
