this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

I was actually hoping it would get pulled, so I could do the Nelson Muntz "HA ha!" at the author.

Herding cats for fun

Release the semi colons! Take that, White House! Tremble before our collective literary abilities!

That's just the best story. Respect the editors!

information libertarian

My best grammatical band name is "Stance Verbs and The Passive," which is an actual section heading from an MA thesis I found dealing with the northern England formation "he was stood" where standard English would have written "he was standing" or "he stood."

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

That is excellent.

Getting out of bed and going to work after a long weekend is not excellent at all.

I'm here. I've done some actual work. Do I want a cup of coffee? Hm

Why isn't everyone pelting me with JOY, dammit? - Zenkitty

I was a little behind on Natter due to an epically shitty day yesterday and came in to that weaponization of grammar exchange. Good Lord, I love you people (you peeps!)

"Respectfully, these changes are neither extensive nor surprising for our journal's high standards, and I do not believe they will be damaging to the DoD. Your commentary is already overdue, so please answer the editor's queries and return it today so that it will not be pulled from publication."

Steph, I swear to you, this retroactively made MY yesterday better.

In not unrelated news, yesterday I dropped in on the new Med Men that just opened up down the street from work. And spent a not inconsiderable amount of money on a CBD "Calm" vape.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

Mac is 18.

His phone has been transferred to him with 1 month prepaid. I had coffee ready for him this morning, a package of mini cupcakes, a package of cookies, and a gift card. Nothing said to me.

BUT he did text his grandmother and is going out with her for ice cream. She is thrilled. And he did respond to his uncle's Happy Birthday text. So maybe he can start communicating with them.

That's....something, msbelle. Good luck.

My parents are supposedly moving out of their house today. After 35 years. The moving truck was scheduled today. My sister was over there on the weekend and was like "what magic fairies do they think are going to pack up their shit???" So I owe her big for dealing with them.

Wow, msbelle. Love to you and I hope his coming cluestick smacks from life don't hurt too much. I was honestly similarly awful to my parents when I was 18, although I was away at college so not so in their faces about it, probably. And now I'm not, so...hope and such

Different and yet similar wow for your parents, meara.
