Mac is 18.
His phone has been transferred to him with 1 month prepaid. I had coffee ready for him this morning, a package of mini cupcakes, a package of cookies, and a gift card. Nothing said to me.
BUT he did text his grandmother and is going out with her for ice cream. She is thrilled. And he did respond to his uncle's Happy Birthday text. So maybe he can start communicating with them.
That's....something, msbelle. Good luck.
My parents are supposedly moving out of their house today. After 35 years. The moving truck was scheduled today. My sister was over there on the weekend and was like "what magic fairies do they think are going to pack up their shit???" So I owe her big for dealing with them.
Wow, msbelle. Love to you and I hope his coming cluestick smacks from life don't hurt too much. I was honestly similarly awful to my parents when I was 18, although I was away at college so not so in their faces about it, probably. And now I'm not, so...hope and such
Different and yet similar wow for your parents, meara.
I've been in my "new" house for 20 years come December, so I feel for them, truly.
And Hippo Birdies for mac, and here's hoping that some invisible boundary of responsibility is passed and soon.
Happy birthday to mac and congratulations and continued good thoughts to you, msbelle.
Good luck to your parents and sister, meara!!
Happy Birthday to Mac. I hope he gets a clue for his birthday.
I took ltc out for lunch because she misses her grandparents after spending the weekend with them. I'm having a club sandwich for the first time in ages, which is all of your fault.
Birthday joy to Mac. Love and hugs to you, msbelle. May he get a clue faster than mine.
Yeah, I have been in this house 20 years. The accumulation is something.
I'm 19 years in this house, and I think having to redo the kitchen really helped with the accumulation problem, because I had to move so much stuff into the garage, I really cleared out a lot. Then I got shelving for the garage, and it's clear enough to even park my car inside. But I ended up dumping a lot of books...
My mother has been in the house for 40 years and it has an attic and basement each as large as the apartments. So you can imagine.
