I don't care if it is an orgy of death, there's still such a thing as a napkin.

"I'm useless alone." // "We're all useless alone. It's a good thing you're not alone."

Steph, I'm pretty sure Ask a Manager had something about this recently. I'll see if I can find it.

the hardest to learn / was the least complicated

I did a search on Ask a Manager, and there's good stuff on negotiating salary in general, but I couldn't find anything about negotiating salary upward after giving a figure in an interview.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

Yay Tim! That's great news!

I want everyone else to have better days, and stop injuring yourselves, please.

Not recognizing the Shelleys isn't Millennial. It's just someone who needs an English lit refresher.

THIS. EXACTLY.

I got my Botox shots in my head today, and the migraine I'd been having for 6 days has gone! I hate the cost of the treatment, but considering it gets me 3 months with no migraines, I'll deal.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Yay Tim!

I have such a dumb work problem I don't know if I can even explain it. And it just keeps going on and on and on. Argh.

Thanks, Dana! That'll be useful to him.

This is pretty exciting! He's needed to move to a job that's less physically demanding, because it's just too hard on him with his RA.

And none of us deserving the cruelty or the grace -- Leonard Cohen

Woo hoo Tim!

Escaped my power-free existence by going out to dinner and the movies (to see Doctor Who again) three miles down the road where there is power. Hopefully this will have all passed us over by the time we get out.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Yay, Tim!

Stay safe, Southeasters!

My PCP is sternly insisting I get the shingles vaccine, since two indicators pretty much means inevitable, according to her.

Here's the thing. The outfit that makes the stuff...isn't, anymore. Has no plans to. My pharmacy, and every pharmacy in town randomly, unpredictably gets a shipment of one box, ten shots per box. Pharmacist's best advice? "Call every pharmacy in town, every morning--if one of them has it, dash over there and hope you're not the eleventh person arriving. We stopped keeping a waiting list when *just our pharmacy's list* got to 300+ names."

I've already decided I can't live indefinitely with that kind of suspense. I'm not calling. If I get shingles and it gets bad, I know where the door is.
