I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

I've been overwhelmed this morning with the feeling that something bad has happened. I actually stayed off my phone for hours because of it. Don't know of anything that has actually happened aside from the continuing shitshow of our government.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

I'm at a very busy urgent care waiting to have my ankle looked at.

If I want to become a cloud of bats, does each bat need a separate vaccination?

The politics have become so hostile on the Holton-Arms alumnae FB page that I've just been invited to join a secret "alumnae standing with Christine Blasey Ford" splinter group and you guys it took 22 years but I'm finally in a high school clique.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I'm all bleary this morning and haven't showered yet.

For those that didn't see it on FB, Matilda's middle school softball team won the city championship game last night in a come-from-behind walkoff win.

In other exciting news, we pitched something to Funko that they're interested in and I got to write a comic that involved sections of Shuri giving Tony Stark shit for being an old guy.

Like: "Is this one of those stories that starts in the 20th century?"

And, "I can send you plans on how to make a coffeemaker if you can't figure it out. Also I can walk you through how to download the attachment."

Also, one of the side projects on the Giapetta Workshop is in the finalizing-the-contract stage and I have a piece of that thing and that could generate some monies.

Which would be good because my computer's in the shop and I can't play with my music and that's making me crabby.

However, I did get some unexpected monies with my last royalty check for the Tom Waits book because apparently they're selling it in Shanghai now. I'm very unclear on the details but I am not going to complain on extra money or opening up new markets.

What is even happening?

I hope you're okay, sj and msbelle.

Msbelle, nothing new and big is going on that I know of. Kanye visited the Oval Office, so there's plenty of buzz buzz buzz. I get a real sense of dread sometimes that usually doesn't play out. I think it's my brain chemistry, and I hate it. It never hurts to shut off the phone though.

Speaking of brain chemistry and Kanye, that was bracing. They had to bleep whole chunks of the presser because of language, but they let "balls through" at least on MSNBC.

Then Stephanie Ruhle (who, along with Ali Velshi) was just amazed (in a bad way) at the whole spectacle, repeated it right on the air.

I realized how much I like her, because when I talked back to my TV, I called her "Teppy."

"I'm useless alone." // "We're all useless alone. It's a good thing you're not alone."

What did you do to your ankle, sj?

I've been a member less than a day and I already want to resign from the entire internet that's not right here.

I have no idea. It hurts a bit and it's swollen. But I'm paralyzed below the knee. So even if I broke it badly, I wouldn't know it.

Thrive to spite them

I hope your days get better sj snd maybelle. Glad you got your meds Dana.

Got updates from my aunt and Dad. My aunt's house , which is close to the coast, is fine and no damage. The Gulf Specimen Marine Lab has some damage but it's not as bad as it could have been.

Dad had a big tree down in his yard. Two giant pines are down across the main road and the tops are in his yard. Don't know if he can go the other way to get out but probably not .

There are about 200 roads closed in and around Tallahassee from downed trees and power lines . Even if Dad could get out I don't think he could get to the beach to check out the cottage because of road closures and flooding. I'm not sure though

There has been flash flooding in SC, NC, and GA.
