I'm enjoying the meal kit thing because they handle planning AND shopping, and each "serves 2" dish is generally three meals for me, so it really stretches out.

I am working from home today which is resulting in barely working. The weather is GORGEOUS kid 60s and no windy partly cloudy. I have the back door open and the dogs are enjoying unlimited outside time for the first time in a long time. I hope it wears them out - when they are inside all day they just sleep, but outside there are sounds and squirrels and SO MANY SMELLS!! It is laps around the backyard and then coming in to check on me every few minutes.

I am also about to start in on watching a movie. I will attempt to pay invoices from work while watching said film, but I cannot guarantee anything.

My yard has a lot of lava rocks. They make such terrible footing even the cats avoid walking on them. One patch has been covered up with rubber backed carpet samples from Habitat for Humanity. I keep finding lava rocks scattered about.

Today I found out how that happens. I looked out the window and spotted a little bird with a striped head, vigorously kicking rocks with both feet at once so it could peck up whatever tasty morsels were hidden there. It moved enough rocks to make a hollow that it's little body fit into. Then it flew off leaving me with the knowledge I will have to sweep my walkway once more. The mysteries of my local nature have been revealed to me!

I think I will name it Bulldozer.

Go little bird! I love it when little mysteries get solved.

Exciting plans for the weekend. I have none.

eta: I just remembered I have a conference call thing tomorrow because I am being added as a moderator/admin for the NYT Reader's Group on FB. I'm thinking it shouldn't be too much effort because there are 10. Only a few posts and members are approved a day. We'll see how it goes!

OMG, remember when I said having a lot of meetings today was fine? I have a 4pm meeting whose purpose is not entirely clear to me! Who agreed to that?????

Master your environment, little bird!

This afternoon is the first time in weeks I've had a few consecutive hours of non-meetinged up time (except got the weekends I've been working. Sigh). I've glut 8 million things to do but what first???

Work rant to ignore: I actually had a nurse call me at 4:55 because she has a new PC and wanted me to get her software set up. I told her it would be done over the weekend. She proceeded to complain about how she was on another machine all day and there isn't anything set up on her new machine, blah, blah, blah. I politely pointed out that by the time I finished her configuration she would be in her car on the way home for the weekend. I also pointed out that their IT company should have hot spares available already configured for a practice their size where every machine is the same. Grrr
