You guys, I like my job. Really, I do. But the articles they've been giving me lately have been so freaking depressing. Last week I had the one about gun violence, I've had a lot of articles about opioid overdoses, and today I have one about the mental health trauma of children in Puerto Rico after Hurricane Maria. This is heavy shit. I need a happy medical article, dang it! Like "this person was sick, but she took this medication and now she's healthy and happy and plays with her pet unicorn every day!"

There are just not enough articles about pet unicorns, period.
Between Luke Perry and Alex Trebec's diagnosis and the ongoing trash fire of the US government, I could SO use a pet unicorn right now.
That sounds like a good article to me, Teppy. Fully support.

I will volunteer to run the "on a scale of 1-10 how much fun is your pet unicorn" survey.
There's a big billboard nearby that's talking about Unicorn Rodeo!, but it turned out to be a conference for software entrepeneurs. Boring.
Currently listening to audiobook of Radium Girls DO NOT READ FOR UPLIFTING MEDICAL NEWS!! IS NOT THERE.
I want every anti-vaxxer and libertarian to listen to this book.

Check. I'll stick with the traumatized Puerto Rican kids.
I am having the most parallel kind of day -- I just talked to someone who reports to me about the difficult relationship she has with someone where they basically got off on the wrong foot and now my report thinks the other person thinks she doesn't know what she's doing, when I had to have my meeting with my version of that person earlier! (Although I know for sure that my version thinks I'm incompetent. But fuck her.)
The happiest things I'm reading right now are the Iditarod reports, which include the likely fact that a woman will win for the first time since Susan Butcher in the early 90s.

still so many miles to go (and a 24 hour rest she needs to take)!
