Well, all kudos to the author! Now I have to read it!
Natter 76: Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Foaminess
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
That one doesn't exist yet, but it would be right in line with her "reluctant royals" series.
Agree, she should totally write a contemporary Discount Viscount in her series!
When I got the Gyoza for lunch yesterday (yesterday? That seems so long ago, but I guess it was yesterday) I also got two enchiladas with red sauce and two with green so today and tomorrow I am having Xmas enchiladas. Really pleased about that.
OTOH, it is a damn shame that telling customers "Everyone has problems, just chill" occasionally is not okay.
Timelies all!
Tomorrow's Friday, and March. Where does the time go? (OK, not very profound, but I am tired.)
Ugh. Forecast is for 38 degrees (100F) the next three days running. So much for autumn.
Meanwhile, Ryan is coming home today from school camp. He's been away two nights at Ballarat, visiting the gold fields. I hope he's been keeping cool. Before he left he informed Biyi and me that with him gone we could have "non-stop smooches". I mean, I still have to go to work sometimes. It's nice he's looking out for us though.
I have a new (used) wheel. Life might not be good, but at least it's fully mobile again.
I had a near-meltdown talking to the resume coach. A lot of built-up frustration coming to the surface. I decided to take some money out of my retirement account so that I can take a day or two off per week to go in for some counseling/job search work, like a resume-writing class, and tomorrow there's a "Reinvigorating Your Job Search."
I may not be the fastest-ever programmer, but by God can I understand business requirements, figure out what the spec is actually calling for, know what questions to ask so that we don't go off course, and take responsibility for getting the program up and fully working, or at least my portion of it. Why am I not employable again?
(We'll ignore the part where I'm not actually applying for jobs.)
If there is anything I can do to help, let me know. I don't know a lot, but I know something about software development.
