I had no idea the Oscars were last night.

The Oscars were on all the TVs above the bar in the restaurant I was at last night, with not entirely visible subtitles, so I could occasionally glance over and catch someone winning and try to figure out what movie they were from and what award they got. That was kind of fun.
I've recorded them, but haven't watched. I did watch the fashion postings on FB. I have to say I really hate the fashionable too short and tight jackets the men are wearing. Looks like kids that grew out of their clothes to old fogie me. I do appreciate the beautiful colors on the men, and of course all that is Billy Porter. He continues to top himself.
I have to say, I enjoyed the hostless let's-get-down-to-business format much more than the broadcasts of the last few years. I'd be more than fine with them continuing it for future awards shows.
It made the show less entertaining but also less annoying, which I think is a trade-off I'm willing to make. I think they do need one good opening number and then they can leave it at that. (Bring back Billy Crystal! Just kidding, but I do always sing "It's a wonderful night for Oscar!")
Dang it! I had restaurant leftovers I meant to bring for lunch today and I forgot them at home. Oh well, they'll be dinner.

Agree! And I'm sure everyone in the room enjoyed an opening Queen concert instead of someone awkwardly making fun of them for 15 minutes, right?
Queen rocked it! They looked like they had fun performing.
I still miss Freddie Mercury.
Hey, guys.
So there was a pounding on my apartment door last night and the guy was yelling about fire. So I stuck my head out and yep, that was fire streaming out of an apartment down the way. So I shoved everything in my pockets I could think of, grabbed both laptops, and left the door open for the firemen.
Long story short, they got the fire out and no one was hurt, but about 10 units on two floors were destroyed. Mine was right on the edge of the affected area; there was no serious damage but they ripped out part of the ceiling to get an ember out and tromped all over my CD collection. But the power's out and I don't know when I'll be let back in, or if I'll be able to stay at all.
So I'll be at a hotel for a few days, and I've got the insurance people notified, but I was wondering if anyone here had gone through something like this, and what it was like for you.
Yikes! Best wishes to get through all that okay, and I'm glad you are all right.
