Y'all, I just got some documents where someone had made a typo in someone's name that turned it into Poo Man, essentially. I would feel bad enough if that were the English version of someone's name, but it's not!!! (I fixed it.)

WHY do I have the hiccups before I eat?
Hi!
Attempting an epic meara covering almost 2 weeks. We'll see how it goes, I'm not feeling super coherent
It's nice to see you here, Emily, but I'm so sorry for the reason why.
Yes, this.
I don't recall people thinking much of anything about blackface at that time
I remember the Ted Danson thing while he was dating Whoopi Goldberg to be a big deal. Don't remember exactly when that was, but feels 80s ish
I learned that slot machines are hella boring, Vegas pools are *awesome*
Man, I am still irritated that the pool at Harrah's was "closed for the season" when we were there last year. That was my whole plan for entertaining myself during the day, lie by the pool and read! I mean, I got by with sitting in the sun on benches along the pedestrian walkway, it was fine, but still.
sarameg, my heart continues to go out to your boss.
is there any way to make a dessert that is vegan, gluten-free, AND nut-free
Oh, hey, it's feeding me, my sister, and my mom! We often fall back on things like cock-eyed cake made with spelt flour, that sort of thing. Or store bought pie with all those qualities that is delicious - I've only gotten it as part of Whole Foods Thanksgicing meal, but the brand is, let me think, Simply Decadent? Something like that.
IOW:
depression chocolate cake using GF flour. Right??
Right
I can't decide if I'm justifiably annoyed at my CVS, or irrationally annoyed.
Justifiably
According to my news alerts Lyndon LaRouche won't be among those running for president in 2020. Too soon?
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Congrats on the new job, Gud!
Ugh, sorry about the food poisoning, Scola! I hope you feel better by now. My "trick" for staying hydrated when I can't keep a glass of water down is to keep a shotglass of water to hand and take tiny sips over the course of an hour and then refill it because I vaguely remember someone telling me that an ounce of water an hour is a bare minimum.
In other news, tomorrow after work, I should go play trombone at a rally in my neighborhood instead of going to yoga, right?
This is a hard question, but I am leaning trombone.
Jess I am so jealous of your dumpling party I cant punctuate
And when I ran out of wimpy slides, I curled up in the indoor/outdoor swim-up bar/hot tub with a book and a strawberry daiquiri.
Ooh, very nice!
That doesn't seem so epic, now.
In me news - Hawaii was wonderful and full of experiences. It's my 4th day back at work and it is not wonderful at all. Sigh. My job feels a lot more like shoveling manure than planting flowers, lately, and the last few days have had a lot of reshoveling manure from where I put it a couple of weeks ago to where someone else put the irrigation system. And I'm SUPER irritated that I can't get a raise this year (because of my recent promotion, which makes sense and is fine) but I do have to do a self-appraisal. So wrong.
I scheduled a 15 minute resume review at the MA state job resource center, and called in sick today instead, since I just wasn't up to going over all that it lacks in hireability. I need a non-programmer job type resume so I should include my Lyft experience (also to make sure that I don't have an empty gap over the past few years) but I just couldn't face up to talking about it and how much can we get done in 15 minutes anyway.
Issues, I have a lot of them.
Well, I hope you feel better and I hope you get a chance to meet with them some time, Theo. That does sound hard, but maybe it will be more helpful than you expect. That happens.
Timelies all!
Managed to make it to work on time. Am very tired, though. Of course, that's probably because a) Gary got home from his trip at 1:30 am, b) I woke up again at 5:15 and couldn't fall back to sleep(stupid hamster brain) and c) since work was officially closed, the coffee place where I get chai lattes was closed. Ugh.
Time to play, what have I forgotten to put on my packing list...
toothbrush, meds, charging cords, travel pillow, snacks.
First three are on the list, don't need the rest. Loaded up my computer and Kindle with things to entertain me. Lyft is booked. Took the trash out, got a note to turn down the thermostats in the morning.
I have twice forgotten to pack my meds (or had them ready and didn't put them in the suitcase). You'd think once would have been enough to learn me.
