Yay vacation!
I'm on the other coast leaving before long for home. I need to come over more often because my siblings need help. Used a supercharger for the first time, and it was located right next to a great restaurant that served a cobb salad big enough for two satisfying meals for me for $9 so that was cool. DH could put a charging port into my sister's house for me easily enough too. Or I could, but won't.
Timelies all!
Just got Mr. S to bed. Tired now...
I had a very nice afternoon with my mother, watching a taping of the local acapella competition show and then out to linner (it was 3pm, but definitely my last meal of the day!). Now counting down to bedtime, and in the morning, I'm having a massage at my house, which feels unbelievably decadent!
I wonder if I can get her to feed me? Nah, probably not.
Two more emails regarding my academic future and then I can nap (took a day off for errands and future academic errands and such). But the procrastination is strong.
Massive update to the beta site. I mean, if you go there it looks exactly the same as before, but it is a massive update. You can trust me, I'm a software developer.
Timelies all!
Did our usual grocery run. Now I have a cat on my lap.
When I was over visiting the sibs my ex-SIL gave me a wooden box, which was my mother's. It didn't weigh anything and I thought it was empty and didn't open it until today. Inside rolled up were all of their school diplomas, many receipts for tiny payments to a furniture company, military papers from my dad's WW2 service, AND wedding memorabilia. The topper from the cake wrapped in a military napkin, hotel bill, flower bill, license announcement, and more. They were married June 10, 1944, 4 days after D-Day. I got all the feels here today.
There was also a long lock of hair tied in a ribbon that I have no clue who it might be. It would be her hair color, but likely others in the family too.
That's amazing, Laura. So many treasures.
