"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

It's not too bad. I just took a bath and made she I wasn't further injured. The adrenaline is wearing off and everything aches. I have to go back and pick ltc up in a few minutes.

God bless Subaru. A big, wet storm rolled through last night, and the plows haven't gotten to most of the roads I travel, and the wind was blowing drifts across the roads that were plowed. I went slow and let my All-Wheel Drive trundle along and was only ten minutes late to work. The Tesla in front of me was getting knocked aroudn by the wind, which surprised me. I would have thought an electric car would be too heavy. Unless the driver was having trouble. And a FedEx truck got stuck on our hill. I feel surprisingly chipper.

I'm sorry, Emily. My condolences to you and your family.

Our wings are not tired.

Ouch, sj. I hope you aren't too sore tomorrow.

All wheel drive is a lovely thing. I have rear in my Tesla, but snow isn't likely to be a factor.

I've got a very robust full time four wheel drive system in my Jeep. Don't need it often in LA, but the rains we had the past week proved that it is very stable.

My boss' boss (once a lowly manager, now a VP) just came to my desk to ask how my car handled the drive in. He's seen all my less-than-dependable cars and was happy that I bought a reliable, snow-worthy vehicle. It's nice having people looking out for me.

My thanks to Virginia for making Florida politics look better in comparison. Upside? Having lived in VA for 5 years none of this is even slightly surprising.

Catching up with my news feeds, amused that Tiffany Trump wore white to the SOTU. Ha!

Thanks, everybody. I don't know if it's depression, grief (which can be identical to depression, apparently), or just the fact that I felt like slightly less of a loser when I had him to take care of, but I have been struggling hardcore. I will probably fade back into obscurity soon but yesterday was an unholy crap day and I felt like reaching out a little.

One of the things that made me really mad when Trump was elected was knowing that my dad was going to die while Trump was president, but in retrospect engaging in political discussion and watching all the MSNBC shows dissect all things Trump was probably good for him.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Emily, I'm so sorry for your loss.
