Our wings are not tired.

My thanks to Virginia for making Florida politics look better in comparison. Upside? Having lived in VA for 5 years none of this is even slightly surprising.

Catching up with my news feeds, amused that Tiffany Trump wore white to the SOTU. Ha!

"In the equation E = mc⬧, c⬧ is a pretty big honking number." - Scola

Thanks, everybody. I don't know if it's depression, grief (which can be identical to depression, apparently), or just the fact that I felt like slightly less of a loser when I had him to take care of, but I have been struggling hardcore. I will probably fade back into obscurity soon but yesterday was an unholy crap day and I felt like reaching out a little.

One of the things that made me really mad when Trump was elected was knowing that my dad was going to die while Trump was president, but in retrospect engaging in political discussion and watching all the MSNBC shows dissect all things Trump was probably good for him.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Emily, I'm so sorry for your loss.

Because books.

It's nice to see you here, Emily, but I'm so sorry for the reason why.

The grief associated with having been a caregiver and then being 'not needed' is horribly debilitating. It can leave you feeling purposeless. Grief is definitely all it is cracked up to be. Sucks. I'm sorry.

Coding and Sleeping

Just made a trip to the grocery store and realized I'm still really weak from the flu. I have trouble with the grocery store normally with all the people, movement, and sounds bouncing off hard surfaces (I suspect it's an Asperger's thing) but today I had to find a empty aisle a couple of times and take a knee for a little bit. Also realized that we have a car in the garage with anti-lock brakes and traction control and on a super-icy day I still used the car in the driveway with neither of those things. Had not a lick of trouble though.

One thing I'm sorta looking forward to with the new job is not working from home. Having to run errands during the day is distracting when get on a good coding roll.

You probably still have the flu and need rest so you don't end up down and out again. Yes, I work from home and it can be very distracting when trying to focus on a project. When I was in school I used to go to the library to study because if I was home there were too many other things demanding my attention.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Flu can really knock you down -- it's an all-body attack, not just sniffles. (Which is why it can be deadly.)
