Something dead in the office is not a good time.
On the other hand, both bottomless mimosas AND napping are!
I just tried to help my mother with a computer thing, and it makes me so anxious that she closes out of everything immediately all the time! I can't believe she doesn't lose more work.
Timelies all!
Day off here. We got groceries earlier, and Gary has taken Mr. S to get some new clothes.(Including underwear. He's still not fully toilet trained, but I guess at school he uses the potty regularly. Plus, some of his classmates are wearing underwear now.)
I missed seeing the eclipse, but I'm fine with that as I was at the 40 Years of Bauhaus concert and having Peak Goth Experiences.
I'm back from Arisia -- it runs until Monday, but is rather a relaxacon on that day.
Sometimes I do kind of imagine the Ken Burns style narration of this crisis...it helps for a little while.
Gud, I wish you could give yourself a break.(even if there is an irony in my asking)
I call every day, but even with an added Democrat, the Arizona Senate delegation is really still useless.
I spent most of the weekend binge-watching Person of Interest and reading related fanfic. Sometimes it's good to be a spinster who lives alone and can say "screw it" about housework. I did go with amyth to see They Shall Not Grow Old, the WWI thing that Peter Jackson did. That was well worth leaving my apartment for a few hours.
I do, msbelle! That sounds amazing.
Wow, Laura, that sounds like several gold stars.
Y'all, the "hiking with cattle" workshop this Friday is full. I'll have to wait and hope they have another one. Somehow, that sums up where I live pretty well.
Picked up DH and brought him home. He was most impressed with my efforts while he was gone. Also, he must have gotten vibes from Natter discussion because you will be amused by the gift he brought me back from his trip. A super nice illuminated keyboard and programmable cool mouse. Ha! Pretty sure he doesn't lurk.
Difficult morning, but I think I'll be ready for a technical interview at eleven.
Are interviews like oral exams for other professions too?
Today is the rough day. My nephew's sentencing hearing. We will all be there for him. My BIL is a mess. Nephew just wants the waiting to be over so he knows how long he will be in prison and can mentally deal with it. No way of knowing if judge will treat him as a juvenile offender or not. New judge is straight out of the prosecutor's office and buds with the prosecutor. Mostly I'm hoping he gets sent to a better facility and not with bad ass hardened adult types. He is the polar opposite of bad ass. Also, whatever the outcome I hope the victim's family can have some peace and closure. They need some finalization too. Although, they still have their civil case in progress. Ugh. Anyway, ~ma for all would be appreciated.
While sending out the ~ma, some for my sister too. She had to put her cat down yesterday and is in very rough shape over it.
