This is going to be a 19-part HBO series that sweeps the Emmys that year.
And I think about watching it and just groan. I wonder if that's how (some of) our parents felt about All the President's Men, etc.?

Ugh, and then Trump will claim he won 19 Emmys. No thanks!
Yeah, I'm so curious how all this will look when it's history. Someday this will all get summed up in a paragraph in a textbook as if it were inevitable and makes sense! So weird.
As someone who is editing a revision of an American Government textbook right now (AIFG?!), I can tell you it is more than a paragraph.
ETA: I'm hoping that by the time we get to that chapter in the APUSH book I'm working on, more of this will be resolved.

It's going to be a Black Comedy like The Death of Stalin.
Or possibly a Farce like Noises Off.

If he's claiming it from a prison cell, that's fine by me. He can claim to be the Emperor of Ice cream then.
Shakespeare or Verdi would have a field day with this. Heck, it's practically Wagnerian.
Was it a Julius Caesar production that got in trouble for presenting a character as Trump-like? Seems like a long time ago, but it must have been the last couple of years...
But, for example, the custodial and dining hall contractors at his work aren't getting paid and won't get back pay.
This is the big piece missing from the conversation, IMO. People keep saying "and government contractors," but I think that makes people think of like Blackwater, not the company that pays your custodians.
So, I ordered a Reuben from Starbucks with the mobile app using a reward on Wednesday, but when I got there to pick it up they were all out and the sandwiches they had available were not at all appealing so they said I could come back the next day and get one and they would remember me. Didn't make it there yesterday, but did today and they were still out of Reubens but I did successfully get a sandwich, and since I was there I also got a Mocha and a slice of Red Velvet Marble Cake. Which is all just to explain why I feel the need to say I AM WIRED - way more caffeine and sugar than I am used to today
