one of the recipients, Rev. Barber, was in Chicago, protesting ... and, seemingly, being arrested.
Wow. What times we live in.
My drive to work apparently coincided perfectly with the cloture vote that NPR was covering live so now I am filled with equal parts impotent rage and resignation. My poor coworkers.
I would really like to opt out of today. Is there a checkbox for that?

Agreed. And if you find the checkbox, let me know.
Yes, please. I would like that checkbox too.
Looks like Kavanaugh will be confirmed tomorrow. I doubt they would have advanced things if they didn't have the vote.

Week, Laura! Glad that worked out with nobody and nothing broken!!
I am flying to New York tonight to go to a k-pop concert with a friend from the internet I haven't met yet, and Casper's continuing attitude towards me meeting friends from the internet remains hilarious. This morning's gems included, "Mom, if Chuck [her nickname for my internet friend] turns out to actually be a guy who is catfishing you, and you end up murdered, just know that I loved you."
Lol! Does she not know you've already met a bunch of us internet axe murderers? And SO HAS SHE! Mwhabahahah! (Is she jealous you are going to the concert and not her???)

This made me laugh. And yet ...
I'm listening to Lucero and eating the most delicious plum (it was not in the icebox, though) and thinking about getting ready for work, although I would rather not. That's all I have today, except for how Caspar is adorable and I'm glad Laura is okay after her morning's adventure!
