I go online sometimes, but everyone's spelling is really bad. It's... depressing.

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

sj, you know the level of batshit crazy I was dealing with with my outlaws. I'm around if you need a sympathetic ear.

Woo hoo on the weight-bearing and the finding of the bus card, meara!

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Thanks, Maria. I'm lucky that one set of inlaws is supportive.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

I'm beginning to get a little worried about this shutdown thing. Should I be looking for work? I don't know...

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

That's a really unpleasant position you are put in, Consuela. I'm so sorry.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Because books.

sj, I'm so sorry about your in-law problem. It never fails to amaze me how awful people can be sometimes.

I have to take Sara for labs to see if she has mono, since the strep test came back negative. She has literally every symptom except fever, so I'm not actually sure what the point is, since there are no meds for it anyway. She is 100% aching wet dishrag right now.

brillig

I missed a call from the cardiologist's office. I don't want a cardiologist. I haven't even had the tests yet, that's on Monday. I can't do the endless cycle of doctors visits again, especially by myself (I won't make FauxSon go with me for anything other than anesthesia events, he's got enough grief in his life).

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Getting old is not for the weak, alas.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

H and I have been accompanying each other to appointments for a while--with lunch and possibly a movie, or dinner afterward, depending on time of day. With him gone for a year, I postponed most of the annual things, and avoided going out at all unless absolutely necessary. There are no people here to "do lunch" with or meet for a movie matinee. And it's not pleasant for me to attempt those things solo.

Should anything happen to H, I forsee me accumulating a number of cats and shopping exclusively online or by phone and just blowing off my eye, teeth, and medical appointments.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

And now I am reminded that I need to make an appointment for a mammogram.
