DH and son went on a nice boat ride to check out decorations. Not as many as I'd hoped for. Will go north next time instead of south. Should be able to go by Mar-a-Lago since his awfulness isn't in residence.

My Christmas Eve included a trip to the minute clinic. I somehow have strained my left shoulder badly and needed rest, steroids and muscle relaxers to help. I have doctor's note to be out of work through the 27th if necessary. This morning I struggled to get up out of bed the pain was so bad.
This derailed my Christmas Eve plans of baking and crocheting. And I wasn't gonign to be able to go down to Matthew's while taking the muscle relaxers and my doctor recommended rest included no driving. But I realized I could delay taking the medicine so I came down this afternoon. This meant I was able to go to his family's for Christmas Eve. They do the gift exchange for extended family and close friends. It was very nice . I got gifts ! There were a lot of people and it was loud so after awhile we bowed out. I was all hazy from the medicine but it was nice.
Mom is at home but she was cool with me going.
I still need to bake a cake for Dad for Christmas. There is a yellow cake with a fudge style frosting my great grandmother made that no one has been able to replicate and in old cookbook I found a frosting that seemed like it would be close to it. So I want to make that. My nephew will be here the 27th so we are doing Christmas then.
Timelies all!
~ma for your mom, Daniel.
That's a great christmas gift for your dad, askye. Hope you have a good bake!
Hecubus, it might not be too early for a hot toddy for your sore throat? IJS.
It's not too early now!
My sick was not an impediment from enjoying the day. We had a very fun and laughy dinner because our fancy xmas crackers distributed whistles in different notes and then we had to play music around the table while one person conducted (emphatically). It was really funny and not even remotely competent.
We skidded in under the wire with last minute present buying and wrapping but all was done and all was well, and all shall be well.
Merry Christmas, Buffistas. You're still some of my favorite people in the whole world.
~ma for your mom and for you and yours, Daniel.
David, health~ma.
My darling Buffistas, Merry Christmas and happy holidays. I wish you all well.
Merry Christmas everyone! We all went out for Christmas dinner at a Chinese restaurant. Tomorrow my brother's coming over and we're roasting a turducken. Or more precisely a chiduckey. They've taken a boneless chicken and stuffed it with a duck breast and a turkey tenderloin. Oh, and then wrapped it in bacon, which (let's be honest) hides a multitude of sins. So that'll be interesting.
Merry Christmas to all who celebrate it! I'm at my sister's. We're heading over to my niece 's today, as she's too pregnant to travel. In fact, I might become a great aunt while we're there.
Health ~ma to the Buffistas and Buffista-adjacent who need it.
