Pile of cream puffs would be gladly welcomed here!

I am impressed by everything jesse did by 730am! It's 10am here and I...have run a loaf of laundry (but have about six more to do because I haven't done laundry in forever), emptied the dishwasher, and did the one work thing I needed to do because I didn't on Friday before I left. Now to go to the store, and then later I'm supposed to have a massage. I'm really hoping it happens—I made the appointment online and got reminders but still have a fear there was a mistake and they aren't open today and I'll get there and no massage! I feel so much better today than yesterday with my migraine though. Whew.

Herding cats for fun

Bones-knitting-themselves-back-together ~ma for your mom, Daniel.

I am about to chop veggies for a 7 layer salad and put a prime rib into the oven. Yesterday I did a Kamado turkey. We are going to have plenty of food.

Dad has "graduated" from being walker dependent and is able to climb stairs and sleep in his own bed again. He's awfully happy about his returning independence and frankly it is adorable to see him so chuffed. 2018 has been a shit show, but it looks like Dad will not be one of the casualties. Let me express my gratitude again.

Merry Christmas to all, and to all, a good night.

Happy for your dad, Katerina Bee; and sympathy and strong bones for your mom, Daniel.

Hecubus, it might not be too early for a hot toddy for your sore throat? IJS.

The apple-frangipane tart is in the oven. When it's done I'll saunter down the street to pick up a few last gifts at a local art shop. It's nice not to have to drive to shops on Christmas Eve.

I ran the dog in the woods this morning, which was lovely although damp. Now I can eat too much at my niece's BF's aunt's big annual seven fishes Christmas gathering. Tomorrow we go to my little brother's house for hot pot with his Chinese family.

I hope everyone celebrating has a peaceful and pleasant holiday.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

Spent yesterday with the family instead of Christmas Day, and now it feels like a huge weight has been lifted off of me.

Excellent!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

My whole family was crabby when they got here ( my aunt who runs a preschool said "Merry Fucking Christmas") but then we all had a really nice time together and I got lots of great books! Yay.

Our wings are not tired.

DH and son went on a nice boat ride to check out decorations. Not as many as I'd hoped for. Will go north next time instead of south. Should be able to go by Mar-a-Lago since his awfulness isn't in residence.

Thrive to spite them

My Christmas Eve included a trip to the minute clinic. I somehow have strained my left shoulder badly and needed rest, steroids and muscle relaxers to help. I have doctor's note to be out of work through the 27th if necessary. This morning I struggled to get up out of bed the pain was so bad.

This derailed my Christmas Eve plans of baking and crocheting. And I wasn't gonign to be able to go down to Matthew's while taking the muscle relaxers and my doctor recommended rest included no driving. But I realized I could delay taking the medicine so I came down this afternoon. This meant I was able to go to his family's for Christmas Eve. They do the gift exchange for extended family and close friends. It was very nice . I got gifts ! There were a lot of people and it was loud so after awhile we bowed out. I was all hazy from the medicine but it was nice.

Mom is at home but she was cool with me going.

I still need to bake a cake for Dad for Christmas. There is a yellow cake with a fudge style frosting my great grandmother made that no one has been able to replicate and in old cookbook I found a frosting that seemed like it would be close to it. So I want to make that. My nephew will be here the 27th so we are doing Christmas then.
