I mean, let's say you did kill us. Or didn't. There could be torture. Whatever. But somehow you found the goods. What would your cut be?

"...and then Legolas and the Hulk destroy the entire Greek army." - Penny Arcade

I just went to use the restroom, and someone in one of the stalls was watching a video on their phone. It was someone - I think Rachel Maddow - talking about the bankruptcy of Trump Castle casino bank in the 90s.

It is LITERALLY an inescapable subject.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Phew, that is a lot, Scrappy. The day and the general uncertainity around your position and how you are doing.

Our wings are not tired.

Oh Scrappy, I do hope you are able to find a workable solution.

someone in one of the stalls was watching a video on their phone

I think the only videos I have watched on my phone are ones sent via text from people. In a stall, never.

A bright curious child can be a good thing, but not always.

True. It does help once communication is a bit more advanced because you know they get what you are saying. I have limited patience with the non-bright, so I was grateful that the kids didn't fall into that category. Maybe I would have adapted, but grateful I didn't have to.

I do have to say that my son started rolling his eyes way too early on things I would say that were totally supposed to be going over his head. The ability to use discrete double entendres was lost before I was ready.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Not because the fights bother me, but because I simply can't get the kids under full control. I don't know...they need teachers badly but the Vice Principal seemed decidedly unenthusiastic about me staying on.

Ugh, that sounds really hard, Scrappy. Are you better than the alternative? Probably. Is this what you need to be doing? Maybe not.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

A bright curious child can be a good thing, but not always.

Yup.

Scrappy, I wish I had advice. You need a mentor for this sort of thing & it sounds like that is in short supply.

Cable dude basically spent 3 hours here, running all new line from the pole. And he was really lovely. We talked about homebuyong & neighborhoods & he thought it was hilarious that I thanked him so much for pulling ALL the dead cable lines. But I just kept pointing to all the dead plumbing & wires I've slowly been making headway on.

Set up all my WiFi & then ran the errands I would on the weekend, so I've freed up time for more pleasurable things, like tacos & DoorsOpen: [link]

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Much sympathy, Scrappy, and good ~ma for it working out well.

I bought a dress online, and the site warned that the clothes ran big, but I looked at their measurement chart and bought my regular size accordingly, and the dress has arrived and it's about 2 sizes too big. It was the last one in this pattern and I like the fabric, so I'm keeping it; I might end up making it into a skirt. And that was my excitement for the day.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

See if a dry cleaner near you does alterations, Zen. That might be the way to go.

Scrappy, I'm sorry it's all so fraught. Wishing you the best way through.

May the perfect job find you, and treasure you, Vortex.

Rapport with repairmen can reap wonderful benefits, sara. Our last cable installer was muttering into our dvr/receiver, "You don't usually see that with these things."

I piped up, "You don't usually get this with large appliances."

He cracked up--"Ghostbusters!"

He loooved our planets painting and complained his wife wouldn't let him hang such a thing in their house. I stopped myself from asking, "Precious Memories? Last Supper?"

May your travels leave you enough energy to enjoy yourself, shrift.

And may the youngest Buffista contingent be easier on their parents.

Oh, Athletics, how you break our hearts.

Next year!

ION, my brother is visiting, which means I drank too much red wine tonight. Argh. Off to bed.

Ugh. Morning. Meeting.
