I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Happy birthday, Sumi! Go team UU! Not that I’ve participated lately. I need to get on the zoom services.

I spent a couple of hours with Amyth this afternoon. We spent it talking, and she told me how much she’s enjoying the photos on FB. She’s doing ok, all awful things considered. It was lovely to just hang out with her for a while.

Art Crawl!!!

BTW- just discovered that I share my birthday with not one but two aunts! One on each side of my family.

How symmetrical.

How is your dad doing?

He's doing well. He hasn't been to the emergency room in months (unless my parents neglected to tell me something, although my siblings probably would rat them out) and his doctors don't think he has prostate cancer at this time, although they are monitoring his numbers.

Oh, megan walker, more sad news! I do remember him and that apartment well.

You hosted a couple Buffista-ful shindigs there (and I know I've got pictures).

Because books.

It's unbelievable to hear about DX. I actually saw David's post on FB and thought, wait, what's happening, I know amyth is still with us ... What a fucking year.

"Wait, are we really friends, or do I just think we're friends because I think of them so fondly...but then neglect to actually follow up with calls or messages or whatever and they think of me as just some rando that they barely know that they maybe shared a meal with that one time..." So just some Sunday afternoon overthinking things. Whatever, I love you guys.

Epic is me.

So good to see Anne and sumi (happy birthday!) and everyone else, despite the reasons why.

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

It's football in a few minutes, and I'm hoping the Saints game will be as entertaining as last week's, when we kicked Tom Brady's ass up and down the field.

I hope your football experience is going better than mine. I had an afternoon nap during the first half and then turned on the Seahawks game for the second half. Which so far looks to have been a mistake.

Sunday afternoon naps have become a common feature of my life. I remember when I was a kid my mom would always like down on the living room couch for a nap Sunday after we got home from church and finished lunch (only on Sundays we called it dinner), and I just couldn't see why anyone would SLEEP during the DAY. Now...sweet, sweet Sunday nap.

"I'm useless alone." // "We're all useless alone. It's a good thing you're not alone."

The football game turned out to be more of a contest between two teams who really wanted to lose, but the Saints lost that battle, so they won.
