I told a friend that in some ways, our Zoom yoga classes are making awareness of touch deprivation worse: a handful of us had reached the "I'ma flop over in your lap for hairpats while I bitch about work for 10 minutes" stage, and seeing them several times a week on a screen drives home the "We're not in the same place, we have no idea when we can safely do this thing in the same place again" reality of it all. A couple of my regular classmates have moved off-island to be closer to their children - I'm cheering that for them and keeping the "Am I ever going to see you again?" wails to myself, but this stinks on ice and I hate it.

ION, living in the future: I kinda feel like USB powered heated fingerless gloves are silly, but my hands become chilled and painful when I'm working, and I need to keep being able to type in spite of that.
