All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

You don't actually think that they would care that a black man died? It won't be real until someone that they actually think has value dies. My money was was on Christie, but the devil was busy that day.

Yeah, between that and the "herd immunity" "open up" noise starting as soon as the statics showing that black and brown people were being disproportionally affected were released, it's all so right out there in the open, isn't it?

-t, I'm sorry.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

I'm sorry, -t.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

I'm so sorry -t.

I'm just back from taking a friend home from the hospital, where she's been for the last three weeks after a drunk/drugged driver jumped the curb and hit her while she was walking her dog to daycare. It was 8 in the morning! So awful. Three surgeries and at least that many pins to put her pelvis back together. But she's walking (with a walker for now) so that's a freaking blessing.

Oh my god, Brenda, your poor friend! That sounds hideous, and I'm sure COVID puts an extra fun spin on it. Yikes.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Jesus, brenda, how terrible.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Yowza, brenda! That’s so awful and yet so easily could have been worse. Wow.

Right? She is walking, and she'll be walking unassisted before long, though likely never quite back where she was. And her dog was found and is okay. It all could have gone so terribly worse. And yet it's still so awful.

Weird aspect - they didn't have any contact info so nobody would even have known right away, but I'm her dog's emergency contact at daycare so I got a call from them. I was able to track her down through the fire department. Put your ICE contacts in your phone!

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

What a fucking year.

I've got some cards and stamps though. I'll get something in the mail tomorrow.
