I'm so sorry -t.
I'm just back from taking a friend home from the hospital, where she's been for the last three weeks after a drunk/drugged driver jumped the curb and hit her while she was walking her dog to daycare. It was 8 in the morning! So awful. Three surgeries and at least that many pins to put her pelvis back together. But she's walking (with a walker for now) so that's a freaking blessing.
Oh my god, Brenda, your poor friend! That sounds hideous, and I'm sure COVID puts an extra fun spin on it. Yikes.
Jesus, brenda, how terrible.
Yowza, brenda! That’s so awful and yet so easily could have been worse. Wow.
Right? She is walking, and she'll be walking unassisted before long, though likely never quite back where she was. And her dog was found and is okay. It all could have gone so terribly worse. And yet it's still so awful.
Weird aspect - they didn't have any contact info so nobody would even have known right away, but I'm her dog's emergency contact at daycare so I got a call from them. I was able to track her down through the fire department. Put your ICE contacts in your phone!
oh, fuck 2020, goddamnit.
What a fucking year.
I've got some cards and stamps though. I'll get something in the mail tomorrow.
This year can definitely go fuck itself.
