Sometimes I miss having powers... Oh. Oh! I know what this is! This is peer pressure! Any second now you're gonna make me smoke tobacco and--and have drugs!

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

Laura, rural Western NY is such a weird place. My birth county, Livingston, was 62% Trump. While I am absolutely appalled by their politics, I think they too should fight for the popular vote over the electoral college. But also, who the heck flies confederate flags in the north!!! I guess we do. And my grandpa was truly Archie Bunker and his kids (my mom and Uncles) were Meathead so it is an interesting existence.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

So, this morning I gave an elderly friend a ride to the grocery store, and as she got in I switched the radio from regular NPR to jazz NPR because we both love jazz and I'd been hovering over the news nonstop every waking moment for the last million years and what's going to happen in 10 minutes? Nothing; bring on the Brubeck.

And then, at the grocery store, my phone started pinging. And pinging. And pinging. And my friend had to open up the seat on her walker and catch her breath and get teary and regain control and go back to the groceries, except every few feet we'd stop and look at each other with cans of beans or yogurt cups or whatnot in our hands and say, "It's real! It really happened!"

And when we headed back out to the car, people were just cruising up and down Market Street blasting their horns and waving and shouting for joy. And I saw an entire family on the corner of Waller & Fillmore, waving and ringing cowbells and drinking champagne at 9:30, all except a teeny girl in pink footie PJs hopping up and down waving an American flag.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

When I left for the grocery store, I was blasting "We Are the Champions" in the car with the windows open (it's almost 70 here), and a neighbor was out raking the leaves and pointed at my car and started waving, and when I honked, she gave me 2 thumbs up and yelled "KAMALA HARRIS!!!"

You've got friends to have good times with. When you need to share the trauma of a badly-written book with someone, that's when you go to family.

You guys. I just thought "ita would have been all over this."

. . . i'ma gonna sit over here and blink really hard for a minute.

Our wings are not tired.

My mom died a few days before the 2016 election assuming that Clinton was going to be president. I've often thought it was good she never knew what happened. There are a number of Republicans that I have thought of and had a bit of gratitude that they didn't live to see what happened to the Republican party, including my dad. And yes, there are too many that I wish were here to celebrate with us today.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Apparently everyone on my street came out to cheer and bang pots and etc., but I was out! So many people driving around honking and walking around "whoo!"ing and biking around cheering and etc. It is very enjoyable being in a blue bubble, as usual.

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

Today is one of those days when I miss living in DC.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

One deluded fool commented on my fb post of "I'm a Republican. Who did I hurt?" Oh chuckles, you picked the wrong day and the wrong person to ask that of. Because while I limited myself to one reply, there are a WHOLE lot of people who will also jump in with clue bats.
