I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Dream cabinet members. No senators or Reps unless from safe safe safe districts. Go!

Oh, I'd put Susan Collins in whatever seems the least screw-up-able. 'Cause then Maine's Democrat governor would have to appoint someone else to her senate seat. I didn't come up with this idea—someone on twitter did. But I love it.

Librarian Warlord

Preet is pretty happy with his current teaching/podcasting. I like to imagine Elizabeth Warren as AG.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

I like to imagine Elizabeth Warren as AG.

Or SecState. I third the Sally Yates as AG.

I want Stacey Abrams as the head of the DNC, but she should have any position she wants. Dems are definitely going to have to throw everything at GA for the runoffs.

Buttigieg will definitely be in there somewhere. I know Ted Yang wants in.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Sally Yates would be awesome. Stacey whatever she wants.

I'm not sure where a Buttigieg fits - Chief of Staff? Though that should belong to Symone Sanders if she wants it.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Sadly, I think we need to keep Warren in the senate for now.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

I'd like to keep Warren as my senator for sure.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I just saw Newsome's statement about replacing Harris in the Senate and I don't really know what to expect there, either. This is all way more fine-grained than I can keep up with.

You've got friends to have good times with. When you need to share the trauma of a badly-written book with someone, that's when you go to family.

I am quietly delighted by the Biden campaign's statement that it's completely irrelevant if the current president does not concede the election:

"As we said on July 19th, the American people will decide this election. And the United States government is perfectly capable of escorting trespassers out of the White House."

In other news, I am feeling sufficiently better about things to have made an appointment for an eye exam and new glasses. TWO pairs of glasses?!? Who even am I? I have these in the green at the bottom and really like the shape of them on my face, so will pick up the gray and pink ones.
