Thrive to spite them

Welcome back.

Brenda you'd think after 3 decades of knowing my dad is so different from me I'd be better about accepting it.

M's mom is getting guilt tripped by her other son over her decision not to go to his house for Thanksgiving. He is offended and also they think this is just like the flu . Still. And the death toll is a lie.

Honestly I have to say that there are some things I admire about M's mom. I don't think she finished high school and her mental health makes her memory bad. And she sometimes struggles with certain words or concepts but she watches the news all the time and pays attention. She voted for Trump in 2016 and she doesn't like Biden so I think she wrote in someone's name. She voted for Harrison because she doesn't like Graham.

She is someone who could be easily be swayed to the propaganda because of those things and it can take her a little time to work through certain things but she will or ask questions about things. And I realized she doesn't just watch one news channels she'll watch all of them. And things like Good Morning America or This Sunday Morning

You've got friends to have good times with. When you need to share the trauma of a badly-written book with someone, that's when you go to family.

Hey, Barb, nice to see you.

I've worked out, am making lasagna, my house is really clean and I'm out of fic. Aaaaaaaaaargh.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

and I'm out of fic

Do you need (1) lower standards, or (2) an additional fandom?

Dana - Nov 05, 2020 3:00:48 pm PST #28861 of 30019
I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Or (3) some recs?

I support recs. Except I am pretty limited on fandoms!! Also open to “you don’t really need to know the show/book” a la some Yuletide things.

One of all three columns, please - I've just finished prepping a loaf of garlic cheese bread.

Recs in what fandom(s)? (I have a one-track -- well, two-track -- mind and can really only rec Good Omens or The Magicians.)

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

Parker, I'm assuming you don't want recs from my fandom. (Tho' there is a lot of cracky fluff in fancy cannibal land, IJS.)

If I can guide us over to the fic thread, I can find some Yuletide-type "don't need to know the canon" stories.

Steph, there has to be Good Omens fic I haven't read yet.

Atropa, I wish I could read recs in your fandom! Sadly, the "Wow, that's elaborate, I wonder how they -" gets bumped aside by contemplation of the ingredients list.

ETA: Works for me, Dana, see you over there.
