Is there anything responsible I can do with them? I'll check to see if I can donate them somewhere, but it seems like a thing people want to get rid of but isn't especially useful to other people/organizations.
Pre-covid, my local healthfoody store would take them and then people who needed a bag could just take one instead of getting a plastic one. I don't know if that's a thing anymore tho.

In 2000, DH watched the results etc all night, I dozed in and out, and that was a terrible experience. In 2016 I went to bed early and woke up to wretched, hard to believe news. I don’t know how to protect myself today/this week...
