I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Over 46% of registered voters have voted in NC already, about 2/3 by early voting rather than absentee ballots.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I'd prefer that that zombie-ass motherfucker McConnell lose, but if not, I'll love it so much to watch him deal with Warren as Senate Majority

ActBlue or someone sent me an email last night with the subject line "MCCONNELL EXPLODED" and I have literally never been so disappointed in an email's body text in my life. I don't like to wish ill on anyone but I hope that fucker dies in a fire.

Our wings are not tired.

The NC and GA turnouts are a thing of beauty. I have relatives in Omaha and the way their state works they have a chance this year to give 1 electoral vote to Biden. They are psyched about that possibility.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

I just put a little shredded cheese on my second baked potato of the day and I'm praying my stomach accepts this gift.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Tomorrow is my telework day, so I am going to vote in the morning. I stopped by a nearby early voting place yesterday after work, but the line was too long. Tomorrow I'll at least have the time to wait.

You've got friends to have good times with. When you need to share the trauma of a badly-written book with someone, that's when you go to family.

Over 46% of registered voters have voted in NC already, about 2/3 by early voting rather than absentee ballots.

Calli, that's great! (I should poke my brother and SIL in Lexington, make sure they've got a plan to vote if they haven't already.) Washington was at 48% of registered voters' ballots returned as of 5 pm yesterday; this time four years ago it was 22%.

I have been telling people that if they're coming into town, the dropbox at the school district administration building is not that far out of your way - it's two blocks northwest if you're going to Safeway - and the county's picking up daily.

msbelle, may the cheese lie easy on your digestive system.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

I feel a bit more optimistic reading here -- my steady talk news people (Boston Public Radio, the ones that offered fund-raising masks that read 'Coverage You Can Trust') were extremely gloomy today.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

(unless she ends up in Biden's Cabinet).

Warren can't go to the Cabinet because Massachusetts has a Republican Governor, and he could replace her with a Republican Senator.
