That's my girl, large and in-charge. Okay, teensy-weensy and in charge.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

And I am sorry to hear about your father, Suzi.

Here's to life.

What is even happening?

Suzi, I am so sorry to hear about your father's passing, and that you couldn't be with him.

I'm thrilled to hear about K-Bug! Please keep us posted.

How are our kids big enough to be parents? Laura is an expectant grandmother, too.

Shir, I wish you the best with your panel.

I think out of sync captions on a panel won't be as distracting as they would be on a TV show.

It's not like captions of a love scene will appear over the footage of a bank heist, but if that happens, I will be wanting a link to the panel video on Vimeo.

You've got friends to have good times with. When you need to share the trauma of a badly-written book with someone, that's when you go to family.

I'm so sorry about your dad, Suzi, but baby! Yay!

Thanks, all. It's done, I'm going to make some lunch and see if I can persuade him that a nap would be in his best interests and no one would grudge him that.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Yay K-Bug baby!

Shir, I hope the panel goes well. Captions are useful, even a bit out of sync, I think.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Suzi, I'm so very sorry about your dad. I can't wait to see baby pictures!

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

So, my county recently moved up a tier in California's reopening plan (to red, which is apparently better than purple, this is all pretty confusing) which means movie theaters could open if they stayed there for some amount of time (I think. Like I said, confusing). I wasn't paying too close attention but I happened to check my local cinema this past weekend and it had movies Now Playing! So I kind of idly pondered whether I would want to (a)see any of those movies on the big screen or (b) sit in a theater under the conditions outlined in their safety protocols. Today I get an email from my the company that owns that particular theater saying they are temporarily suspending operations close of business tomorrow. So I guess that is not a decision I actually have to make.

What is even happening?

Boston schools had to push their in-person reopening (for hybrid learning for students w/out special needs) from October 15th to at least October 22, because the positive test rate in the city is now 4.1%. [link]

I have to go get my flu shot. I keep forgetting. My youngest son got his yesterday, during his annual physical. I'm going to drag my husband and daughter with me. Our oldest son has his own place again, so I'll have to nag him via text.
