Hey, don't worry about it. Nest full of vampires, you come get me, okay. Box full of puppies, that's more of a judgement call.

I hope the service goes as well as possible and affords some small level of comfort, AmyParker.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

Many thoughts in yours and Jim's family's way, amyparker.

I have been thinking about that a lot too, as well as being filled with rage that accommodations really were more possible and people just didn't want to do them.

Tomorrow I'm moderating a panel. Panel is on zoom, but it's broadcasting to vimeo which is what the audience sees (so they're not a part of zoom). I am including live captioning because the conference is not accessible to deaf and hard of hearing I'm stubborn about these things. Since participants will not be able to decide for themselves whether or not to enable it, I fear that a lot of people will experience the live captioning as "subtitles that are not in sync". And we all know that's annoying. All in all, I chose to think of it as an experiment in hearing audience's reaction to live captioning.

Suzi! That's wonderful. Healthy, quick and safe delivery, with lots of health and sleeping hours to baby and family.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

My heart is with each of you. Fuck Cancer, Fuck Depression, Fuck it all.

My dad passed July 28th and I'm still struggling with it. I couldn't go to SF to see him when they discovered that his cancer was back and spreading aggressively. Fuck Covid for keeping me from spending some time with him.

The main thread I've been holding onto is the circle of life. K-Bug is expecting a baby this month. Well, actually today/tomorrow. Somehow I can't concentrate on work.

Oh, SuziQ, I'm so sorry for your loss. But congratulations on impending grandmotherhood!

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Baby! How exciting, SuziQ! I hope you aren't actually expecting to work meanwhile, that seems a little silly.

And I am sorry to hear about your father, Suzi.

Here's to life.

What is even happening?

Suzi, I am so sorry to hear about your father's passing, and that you couldn't be with him.

I'm thrilled to hear about K-Bug! Please keep us posted.

How are our kids big enough to be parents? Laura is an expectant grandmother, too.

Shir, I wish you the best with your panel.

I think out of sync captions on a panel won't be as distracting as they would be on a TV show.

It's not like captions of a love scene will appear over the footage of a bank heist, but if that happens, I will be wanting a link to the panel video on Vimeo.
