Jayne: Captain, can you stop her from bein' cheerful, please? Mal: I don't believe there is a power in the 'verse that can stop Kaylee from being cheerful. Sometimes you just wanna duct tape her mouth and dump her in the hold for a month.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

the online games I was playing I found increased my anxiety and led me to staying up too late and not doing my work during the workday - not great for me.

Podcasts are doing a good job for me at the moment. I can listen and still work/text.

Sadly reading or even audiobooks are too much focus for me right now. I need to get the book for this month's bookclub and make a go of it again.

It took me a while to get there, but walks after work with the dogs are a good reset for my brain.

You've got friends to have good times with. When you need to share the trauma of a badly-written book with someone, that's when you go to family.

Hey, folks, the livestream Mass for Jim's brother is about to start - any spare kind thoughts would be very much appreciated. He didn't get much sleep.

I'm very sorry for your losses, Calli and msbelle.

I have been playing a lot of (free, of course) online poker. I have, in the last month, started tackling small projects around the apartment, so I feel like there's some progress there. But I'm a much better poker player than I used to be... way more so than a well-organized and cleaned apartment dweller.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Thinking of y'all, amyparker. Much love.

I play little puzzle games of various kinds on my phone pretty regularly. It helps me get my mind straight, sometimes at least, and is easy to walk away from if it isn't helping or I really need to do something else or whatever.

I hope the service goes as well as possible and affords some small level of comfort, AmyParker.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

Many thoughts in yours and Jim's family's way, amyparker.

I have been thinking about that a lot too, as well as being filled with rage that accommodations really were more possible and people just didn't want to do them.

Tomorrow I'm moderating a panel. Panel is on zoom, but it's broadcasting to vimeo which is what the audience sees (so they're not a part of zoom). I am including live captioning because the conference is not accessible to deaf and hard of hearing I'm stubborn about these things. Since participants will not be able to decide for themselves whether or not to enable it, I fear that a lot of people will experience the live captioning as "subtitles that are not in sync". And we all know that's annoying. All in all, I chose to think of it as an experiment in hearing audience's reaction to live captioning.

Suzi! That's wonderful. Healthy, quick and safe delivery, with lots of health and sleeping hours to baby and family.
