'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

One of my long-time friends here is Covid-positive along with his spouse, so my fingers are crossed for them both.

I noticed my foot hurt less as the day went on, and I think the reason is the pressure from the sock & shoe helped reduce the swelling, so I'm going to try wrapping the foot overnight and see if that helps. Right now my foot is hella-itchy under the bandage, so this may not be a viable solution.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

That sucks, msbelle. I hope they find an effective chemo with minimal side effects.

Glad the foot's hurting less, Theodosia.

msbelle, I'm so sorry about your friend.

I'm glad you're feeling better, Theo.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Fuck cancer, truly!

I'm sorry I missed you, Cass - I was awake at 4!

Missed opportunities.

I rage journaled for a few hours while hanging out sitting on the dog's bed. Sometimes with, sometimes without dog. I was given an idea that sometimes you can journal just to get it out. You don't reread them or dwell on them. You write and can just get rid of it. Even burn them. Which is totally the way I'm going to do it because fire.

So how are you spending your afternoon?

Being incredibly grateful for my ex-gf for gifting me a day at Bondurant School of High-Performance Driving.

Because I came very close to being in a very bad accident coming home from work. Thankfully traffic was sparse going the other way so I skidded across my lane, the next lane, middle lane and through the two lanes going the other direction and then didn't flip when I had to get back over.

Toasted my tires and I'll need my brakes checked.

I hate that fucking intersection. One car pulled out into the fast lane and then another guy pulled straight in front of me. Going 66, so one mile an hour over the speed limit.

Damn, Cass! Glad you are ok! ( I am assuming you would have said if you were not, after all that, ok). Yikes!
