We killed a homeless man on this bench. Me and Dru. Those were good times. You know, he begged for mercy, and you know, that only made her bite harder.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Aw, shrift. That all sounds like not really your fault stuff to me! Hope the glasses can be easily fixed

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Hope the glasses can be easily fixed

If you'll recall the instance where I literally snapped my glasses in two because I walked into a glass revolving door at the airport (at the beginning of the trip), they were able to totally fuse the glasses together without even a seam.

Also, what I did was way more stupid than falling asleep with my glasses on.

In short: I think they will fix it without judgment!

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Somehow I managed to break an arm

OH MY GOD

off my new eyeglasses last night by falling asleep on them

Oh, phew. I once had my glasses fall apart in the middle of the day and had to a) find a place that could fix them and b) figure out how to drive there safely and navigate through the mall with basically one functioning eye.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Which is laudable, but a very poor choice to do before bedtime.

Describes most of my choices

OH MY GOD

FIRST OF ALL, EVERYTHING'S FINE.

You misspelled human and fallible there, shrift.

I recognize that I am human and am allowed to make mistakes, even though brain weasels are reporting that this seems fake.

they were able to totally fuse the glasses together without even a seam.

That's encouraging. I have contact lenses and backup glasses that I can use while I kick off the "mistakes were made" process with my optometrist.

And good job getting the no doubt onerous paperwork moving!

I now have another document that I need to figure how to mark up and upload, but I am making progress!

Turns out that marking up and e-signing a PDF isn't that difficult, so that's done.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Between this and the tax thing, I'm feeling particularly shitty and incompetent these last few days. (I did scan the IRS letter and upload all my documents for my tax person, at least.)

I'm willing to bet that the tax thing is entirely not on you, but somebody at the processing center typing a wrong digit.

Did I get the stuff I planned to get done today done? No. But I did get stuff that unexpectedly came up today done, and at least one of my usual Monday/Tuesday tasks, so I'm thinking that's enough.

I have been guessing that shrift's tax thing is the fault of some evildoer doing some evil, but could also be honest mistakes, I suppose
