I had a custom night guard but it didn't fit great and most of all I tended to have nightmares where I had endless amounts of gum in my mouth and spitting it out or clawing it out didn't help and I still had gum...and then I'd wake up, spit the night guard out, and go back to sleep. I've had some success with a front-teeth-only guard, but even that I chopped up because it went too far up the roof of my mouth. And I'm not sure it really helps—like, it may save my teeth (which is important) but won't stop me from grinding?

I'm worried about my friend who lost her house in the Tubbs fire of 2017 but stayed in the area. Even if she's safe this is going to mess her up emotionally.

Sorry to hear about all the rough nights, y'all.
Somehow I managed to break an arm off my new eyeglasses last night by falling asleep on them, so this afternoon I get to call my optometrist to see if anything can be done to repair them. I know they probably get these calls all the time, but that doesn't help much with me feeling like an asshole who's the reason why I can't have nice things.
Between this and the tax thing, I'm feeling particularly shitty and incompetent these last few days. (I did scan the IRS letter and upload all my documents for my tax person, at least.)

If you'll recall the instance where I literally snapped my glasses in two because I walked into a glass revolving door at the airport (at the beginning of the trip), they were able to totally fuse the glasses together without even a seam.
Also, what I did was way more stupid than falling asleep with my glasses on.
In short: I think they will fix it without judgment!
