Well, look at you. All dressed up in big sister's clothes.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

You never know when your family will produce emergent phenomena.

It was a phenomenal amount of suck.

Ah, the whole life would be so much easier if you did what I said and it was all over in a few minutes sitch.

This is very true and yet we are both battle wearied enough by parenthood to know how rarely that easy path is taken.

I hope the morning's better.

So far so good. Matilda slept well on the couch. I got her up and she's in the shower and I'm trying to get her parked in front of her computer in the next....six minutes. Hmmm...

Wait, I do have good news: Matilda got straight A's on her first report card. No missed assignments. Which is pretty good for online classes.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Wow, she already has her first report card? Go, Matilda!

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

I super don't want to work today though

IT ME! I am web surfing and monitering email. We can all use slack days when nothing is pressing and AFAIK nothing is pressing at my work.

TCG was taking today off to keep ltc busy on her day off, but he has the sore throat we had last week, and is mostly sleeping. Meanwhile ltc woke up at 7:30 ready to tantrum.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

very hard to concentrate today, it's going to be 100 degrees here and the air smells terrible.

So sad for all the folks who are being evacuated again in teh North Bay...

How does she already have a report card, she only just got a high school assignment like, yesterday!

I had a custom night guard but it didn't fit great and most of all I tended to have nightmares where I had endless amounts of gum in my mouth and spitting it out or clawing it out didn't help and I still had gum...and then I'd wake up, spit the night guard out, and go back to sleep. I've had some success with a front-teeth-only guard, but even that I chopped up because it went too far up the roof of my mouth. And I'm not sure it really helps—like, it may save my teeth (which is important) but won't stop me from grinding?

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I'm worried about my friend who lost her house in the Tubbs fire of 2017 but stayed in the area. Even if she's safe this is going to mess her up emotionally.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

And I'm not sure it really helps—like, it may save my teeth (which is important) but won't stop me from grinding?

Yes, I think saving your teeth is what a mouth guard is for.

I have to say, the fact that I put my air conditioner on this morning is not helping me understand that it's almost October.
