I've already used 3 days of sick time.

Definitely what sick time is for—plus if you have a fever or are exhausted you're probably making more work for yourself in the future when you try to figure out what you meant or what you did!
Teppy I haven't stocked up yet (though I definitely need to reorganize my pantry and some places, to get space first!) but plan to. I did get a bunch of cash back at the beginning of the pandemic just in case but so far only used to pay the house cleaner.
Puppy continues to be exhausting, though he was quiet (sleeping or not) from 11pm until 545am! But then was definitely not quiet from 545 onward. :(

It is making me smile to think of Nilly lurking and skimming. Hi Nilly!
I have been keeping my gas tank 3/4 full just because I heard that that was better if the car is sitting most of the time. I will usually have a couple of weeks food on hand right after I've gone shopping, maybe more, but I put off shopping again and let my supplies dwindle. And I never have cash - putting some by is a good idea.
I bought bagels but no cream cheese at the grocery store, so when I got lunch at Pabera yesterday I also got a tub of cream cheese, so I had a grocery store brand bagel with Panera cream cheese for breakfast and both those things are pretty bad! Alas. I expected the bagel to be not great but I had no idea that Panera cream cheese had gotten kinda gross. Learn from my mistakes!

When I had the flu with that kind of extended fever, I was out of work for two weeks.
Gud please call your doctor or a nurse line or someone to talk to them.
You are sick and pushing yourself to the point where you are going to get worse if you don't take care of yourself.
Taking care of yourself means staying home from work and also calling a doctor or a nurse about having a high fever for multiple days
Yeah, when I had the flu like 20 years ago, I was unsteady for a couple of weeks.
Going to work means possibly infecting your coworkers. What does your doctor say?
It's not unreasonable to have a stash of goods and cash at home in case stuff hits the fan. I'm not a prepper, but I do live in earthquake country in an age of power shut offs. I buy gas when the gauge gets close to a quarter tank. I have a cash stash. I have bottled water, cat supplies and canned food. I think I remember how to make a rocket stove with five cinder blocks. Just in case.

Hurricane country here. I have batteries, water, and a fire pit that I can use to boil water for coffee. I just have to make sure to grind a few days supply of beans in case of power outages.
The other good thing about calling a doctor is that you've got a documented illness AND if they say stay home for a significant period, HR has to put it in the Short Term Disability bucket that doesn't count against your sick days.
