"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

In one day, Hec? (Or six months?)

One day! Between my run and my regular errands I can usually get to 7,000 without additional effort, but it takes a third outing to get over 10,000.

Yesterday I (a) drove a car for the first time in a couple years; and (b) went to Japantown for the first time since the lockdown. Some things are starting to open up in San Francisco again. Particularly nice to have Amoeba again, and Japantown. I ordered Matilda's favorite curry to go, got some wind chimes for a friend at the Japanese Hardware store and went by the bookstore to pick up some items from Aims and Emeline.

Our wings are not tired.

They should have fucking burned everything down to get Garland on the Supreme Court. And instead they just rolled over and let fucking McConnell do whatever he wanted.

Both Harry Reid and Chuck Schumer have looked like pathetic underachievers next to McConnell. I am over being the nice reasonable party. Alas, I don't know if Biden has it in him to do what needs to be done WHEN we do assume power again.

Well done, Hec. I have been a lazy bum all summer. Stress has done me in. I know if I did more it would help, and yet.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I hear you, Dana. I think as long as you keep breathing today you are doing all you need to for the moment.

Ugh. I hear y'all on the anger and hopelessness. I am super scared of what this country is becoming.

What is even happening?

Cindy, she's active on FB and Instagram. She's doing as well as any of us are right now. Her daughter is a delight and a bright spot on my screen.

Thank you, Maria!

I was wondering about Norah the other day. I hope she's well.

Same. Also bon bon and BHP. I see Kat on Twitter. She sent us some cute cloth masks Grace made early on, when we couldn't get anything here (as did 'stina, whom Bronzers will remember).

I mostly feel hopeless, because it takes less energy than anger. But you know who I'm furious at? Obama and the Democrats. They should have fucking burned everything down to get Garland on the Supreme Court. And instead they just rolled over and let fucking McConnell do whatever he wanted.

Dana posts, so I don't have to.

I am over being the nice reasonable party. Alas, I don't know if Biden has it in him to do what needs to be done WHEN we do assume power again.

Also Laura. Much apartment-ma to your son.

One day! Between my run and my regular errands I can usually get to 7,000 without additional effort, but it takes a third outing to get over 10,000.

Excellent. (I figured that at first, but then noted your mention of 600 square feet and wondered.) How is school going for Matilda, Hec?

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

BHP also posts on Twitter. (Mostly politics, which I can't really handle right now, so I don't remember her username.)

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

How is school going for Matilda, Hec?

She's in online class right now.

Mostly, we're all relieved to have a high school assignment. It was weighing on all of us.

She's definitely responded much better to having the structure again.

They are tentatively talking about in-school classes again by November. That'll be a huge change and we'll see if she can form some new friendships then. The lockdown has really affected her friendships in ways I wouldn't have anticipated.

Tomorrow is Emmett's birthday, and Saturday Matilda's. He'll come down for that.

JZ's work has extended work-from-home all the way through June of next year. Not my favorite news ever.

We're still knee deep in dealing with selling JZ's dad's house (the one that had the big housefire) and his business. If it hadn't been for the fire, the house would have been on the market and probably sold by now.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

BHP is Madame Hardy on Twitter. And that quick dip over there reminded me why I don't go on Twitter.

What is even happening?

Oh thank you, juliana and Dana. I found her.

Thrive to spite them

I end up on twitter a few times a week, sometimes more often.I tried to pare down what was political but there was no way because everyone is posting stuff or it gets retweeted.

I have noticed that anytime I comment lately I get a few responses and they seem to be mostly trolls so I will go through and report accounts.
