That seems to be the way a lot of politicians handle it - I've heard multiple stories from people who write a disfavorable letter to the Senator/Congressman and get a response saying "thank you for your support".

Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

Wow no posts from 2PM to 8PM Pacific? Where is everyone?
I went over to a friend's nearby and she met the puppy for the first time, and we got tacos. Puppy had a long walk, meeting my friend, sniffing around. We got home and he went potty. And now....he's acting crazy. I'm like "what do you want? You have food, water, you don't need to go out...why are you not tired OMG?!" Maybe he's overtired and will zonk out tonight. Maybe.
I've been grading exams all day, and still have a ton more to grade. Ugh.
Also, I've been stressing about how to get the side mirror on my car replaced in a Covid-safe way, but now I just looked up some videos about how to replace it, and it looks like something that I can do myself, so I'm going to try doing that.
Where is everyone?
Oh you know, occupying the same 600 square feet I've been in for the last six months.

Woohoo! 11,940 steps/5.1 miles!
After we got back from Costco and got everything divided and put away (I really want a vacuum seal thing , that would make life a bit easier). I ended up watching Shakespeare & Hathaway on tv and crocheting some. On the family Zoom y yesterday I got asked if I was crocheting or knitting and I do miss it so I pulled out some yarn I bought on a whim and found a pattern.
I'm not especially thrilled with what I'm crocheting but it's simple enough I should be able to finish it and not make any major mistakes and get me in the groove again.
I found Leverage on Plutotv - a free streaming site/app. although it's ad based so every commercial break is pretty much the same ad for ATT, T Mobile, Trulicty and I've blocked out the other. I think there were 2 T Mobile ads.
oh! They have the Carol Burnett Show! The original one that's never been on DVDS and full seasons of it. I didn't watch any but I may tomorrow while I am crocheting.
I really need to go back and rewatch Leverage. I want to see plutocrats go down.
Went back to dog class tonight, and it was fun! My girl got very fit in Colorado chasing after lots of tennis balls, and so she did very well on the course.
Gud, I don't know how to say this in a way that you will hear: please get help. You would not want to see a friend treated this way, or thinking this way about themselves. I don't know if your wife is truly abusive, but you are certainly beating yourself up for things which do not deserve that kind of reaction. Something is wrong. Please get help.
Cosigning what Consuela Said.
Me, I was rewatching a couple of episodes of The Magicians that I evidently watched way too fast. There's a lovely story where Penny-40 in the afterlife makes a good argument that there are no secondary characters and sidekicks, which is a great bit of meta to catch us up on a bunch of plots and character development. I like the series so much better than the book(s).

I only have one word: BINGE!
Hil, I replaced my side mirror last year and it was pretty easy. Replacing the blower motor for the AC on the other hand was a trifle more challenging, but I got it done!
I find PlutoTV and FilmRise incredibly annoying with the way they handle their ad breaks. I prefer tubi, which also has LEVERAGE and puts their ad breaks in where they would have been on tv, instead of interrupting what feels like every 30 seconds regardless of where the act breaks are.
Carol Burnett is a very good idea. There is way too little laughter in current life.
In Florida political news, Mike Bloomberg is our new best friend. He paid the fines poll taxes for 32,000 Black and Hispanic felons who are already registered to vote so they can vote in the upcoming election. There are some 775,000 formerly incarcerated felons who were allowed to vote after Florida citizens voted to allow it, then our state government decided they could only do so if all their court costs and fines were paid in full. Various groups have been working to pay the fines for them, but Bloomberg focused on minorities and most likely to vote because already registered.
