I hope someone on Biden's team has a Google Docs list of all the new conflict-of-interest rules (and legislation) that needs to be put in place. Plus getting a Constitutional Amendment reifying the right to vote. Plus cutting back the number of political appointees in the executive branch. Plus making Inspectors General un-fireable except for cause (and that has to be reviewed by an outside non-partisan body). Plus requiring the President to actually fill positions with Senate-approved nominees, and fill board and commission spots (like the FEC), with something enforceable.

Basically, make norms enforceable for once.

Yeah, she can say whatever she wants before the election and then change her mind as a big fuck you after, if she gets voted out.

I think the *next* person who spills their food on McConnell should make sure to order saganaki or cherries jubilee before doing so.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Yeah, all those things reasonable people who differed did as a respectful standard of behavior will need to be laws now.

The Republicans will bitch about us regulating everything - but if Presidents won't willingly release their financials and medicals and give up their business interests and if they treat the Secret Service as a source of revenue we need to pass some laws.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

How are you doing the texts, msbelle? Do you have to type in each number individually or what?

Theo - I do them with Red2Blue. It is all online, computer not phone, because you need to be able to check Campaign Guides and switch between the texting place (ThruText) and Slak for asking moderators questions. I have to hit return to send each text, but never even see the phone numbers. It is all automated and Red2Blue has a really good system of moderation, checking texts, training...

Coding and Sleeping

It has been a rough few days. I got sick Wednesday and have high fevers for a good amount of time. I got up to just under 106 on Friday. What I know is that it isn't COVID, and it isn't influenza.

My wife is pretty angry with me right now which makes everything harder. I don't try to get sick. Then last night I fucked up by fixing my laptop, saying that if I do have to go to the hospital that I would like it working right. Well, she was really pissed that I was putting that before things like making sure she had all the info she needed to pay bills and stuff and maybe she has a point. Maybe I don't care about anyone but me. At that point everything I said seemed to be wrong so I just decided it was best to shut up.

In a way I was disappointed it wasn't COVID because if I died my family would probably be better off. Well not financially, but maybe my wife could remarry with someone who is a decent human being.

She just went to get some dinner. I offered to do it by she didn't take me up on it. I think she's pretty pissed that I messed up her dinner plans, though I'm not sure how I did it. I just fuck things up all over the place.
