Jayne: That's a good idea. Good idea. Tell us where the stuff's at so I can shoot you. Mal: Point of interest? Offering to shoot us might not work so well as an incentive as you might imagine.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Still trying to figure out the safest way to get from Cincinnati to NJ, though -- I'll probably have to stop at a hotel for one night in the middle of the drive, though I might be able to do the drive in one day.

I've never done the Cincy-NY drive without another adult in the car to share the driving - it's definitely doable in one stretch but it is a LONG-ass day in the car.

Our wings are not tired.

I find the long ass day in the car drives actually work much better with very frequent stops, even just to walk around the vehicle and get back in. Otherwise I get stiff and/or overtired.

Rosh Hashanah will be spent with Gary's mom like usual. Services will be on Zoom or something like it, so we will be at her house, socially distancing. If the weather's nice, we'll sit in her backyard. If not, the garage I guess.

General question: How would you pronounce "$ theory"?

Punishingly Intricate

Dollar theory?

Um, no idea Chris! Might depend on context? Money theory or dollar theory?

Got electric quote. They have to rewire the whole room, which means moving all my bookshelves and cutting holes in the wall so they can fish wire through. Going to cost about as much as the dang treadmill did!!

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Bummer, meara

My gut says "money theory". I want to somehow turn it into "bang theory" but I know that can't be right.

Ooh, streaming services, I hadn't thought of that! Maybe I ca find some. I don't belong to a shul so I haven't been to services in years. I'm gonna have to look around for something.

I finally got groceries. It took me forever to get out the door and then another forever to actually shop but now the cat is fed and I have fixin's for tomorrow and stuff I can just eat without cooking right now.

The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

How would you pronounce "$ theory"?

First impulse: dollar theory

Second impulse: money theory

Third impulse: string theory

"You can't put a price on the joy of not giving a shit." -Zenkitty

I have no idea what I'm going to do for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Not going would be fraught, especially since there are a bunch of family birthdays we also celebrate during that time.

I do not feel good about flying right now and I'm not sure how much that will change in a few months. How would I quarantine at my parents' house? My dad's high risk. Would I be able to spend an entire month there without running into the woods screaming? And now that my parents are retired, trying to work from their house has not been very successful with them in the house all the time and running the vacuum when I'm trying to run a meeting.
