And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Working document is like an evolving document changing as the situation warrants it, right?

Yes...you can't complete and submit a working document, that's not what those words mean.

I'm sorry, msbelle. The more times I ready those words the less I understand them.

msbelle, I believe I would interpret it as "agreed upon final version" and/or "something that we're really for sure going to do", I think. (I'm trying to hear it in my boss' voice and figure out how I would interpret it - my boss loves corporate catch phrases and doublespeak).

Msbelle you sent the first paragraph and she sent the second? I'm stumped. Also, how on earth can you estimate her time for her?! Like, is she in meetings alll day so you can say "1 hour project X, 3 hours project y"?

omg - THANK YOU ALL FOR BEING HERE - I really just think I am losing my mind with being all ???!?!?!? confusion emoji with damn near every email from her. Because NO ONE ELSE starts to backchannel about "wtf does she mean by....." or at least they do not with me.

And no matter how I try to imagine it, an email back like - "I am not familiar with the term Working Document in this context, but (Your Boss) is wanting this form submitted every two weeks ongoing" sounds somehow snotty.

yes meara.

Oh and the estimating her time is even better BECAUSE I CANNOT SEE HER CALENDAR!! And even her ASST (WHO SHOULD BE DOING THESE GD THINGS) can only see blocked time, not the subject of the meeting - unless the asst set up the meeting.

"So going forward, Other Person and I will Do Thing and submit to you for approval, per Your Boss' request."

Yeah, it's hard not to sound snotty.

esse, I am so sorry for your loss. Peace to you and yours.

msbelle, I interpret this as you fill out as much as you can estimate, then you pass it on to her assitant to fill in from her calendar what she can, then she signs something inadequate and throws the two of you under the bus.

So, I would memorialize what you can do. "I will estimate from (what I know/can see) then I will pass it on to (assistant) a day [or two or whatever before the due date] to make corrections/additions/clarifications. She can then forward for your signature.
