esse, I am so sorry for your loss. Peace to you and yours.
msbelle, I interpret this as you fill out as much as you can estimate, then you pass it on to her assitant to fill in from her calendar what she can, then she signs something inadequate and throws the two of you under the bus.
So, I would memorialize what you can do. "I will estimate from (what I know/can see) then I will pass it on to (assistant) a day [or two or whatever before the due date] to make corrections/additions/clarifications. She can then forward for your signature.
What sparky said!
I'm sorry, msbelle, no part of this project makes any sense to me, from what you are supposed to do to why you are the one doing it.
It's my first day of actual vacation on a work day! Finished Pride & Prejudice, I think that is definitely my favorite Austen so far. Only one workchat welcoming me back from my vacation and asking me to do something...
Timelies all!
I'm so sorry for your loss, esse.
Just because I feel we are all so invested in this.
I sent this to co-worker/her asst. at 3:30:
Do you have some understanding of what she means by working document here?
Is she asking if this is going to be an ongoing form that she has to fill out?
Of course she did not respond.
I am completing the work I said I would get done today in my morning email/report.
Radio silence still from my boss also - the queen of zero communication (which normally would be fine, but not when I am emailing you asking for input/guidance ON A SUNDAY).
people don't know how to communicate and/or manage.
I mean maybe she's asking if like, next week she adds to what's in there for this week and it keeps being updated like that? If so she might think she has more leeway to go back and change previous weeks later (like "I think it was three hours but I'll go back and check my calendar later, it's due now")
literally WHO KNOWS. I think if you are the one introducing jargon into a discussion - the impetus is on you to be clear about what you mean by that.
Of course, what I think is of zero importance outside of my house, so...
msbelle, would it be way outside of your office culture to talk on the phone, then send an e-mail summarizing the phone call (i.e. a cover-your-butt email)?
Sometimes, I find emailing/texting back and forth, when people don't understand each other, fails as a way to get to an answer. The more people don't understand each other, the more formal they get (and so there's less meaning in their words).
I HATE the phone for work stuff. Really hate and it is too late to do today. Also I am not sure if I can control my voice. The sarcasm and anger kinda ooze from me currently (maybe all the time).
