Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
I have the zoom invite now, so that's good.
There's an auto shop by my folks that gives you a coupon for a free beer at a nearby bar while you wait. There are some problems with that system but it sure sounds good right now!
Oh wow, -t. What a day already. I'm glad to hear that the kindness of strangers has not gone extinct. They updated jacks some time back, and I don't like the newer ones (probably because they still feel unfamiliar).
Beer foamy.
Thank you! After a year and two months of studying and getting specific grade average and submitting a thesis proposal and getting a recommendation and going through an ethics committee, I heard on Tuesday that I am now officially a research student. Who cannot do ethnography due to COVID, but I'll figure how to work around it (eh, Zoom interviews, I guess).
This is great (except for the parts that COVID makes more difficult). Congratulations!
The way the jack works once it's in place was the same as I am used to, but the spot where it attaches to the car was disorientingky different - I just assumed it was a Prius thing. Anyway, I am almost the proud owner of a new tire, just waiting to pay and get my keys back. And I got to join the Zoom birthday for my dad for a while (in which we compared notes on natural disasters, for the most part) and I should be able to make it over to my parents' for dinner. And the best part is I forgot I had put some money in savings so paying for the new tire is not going to be as much of a challenge as I first thought!
Adventure, -t! Always more fun in retrospect
I just had a few friends over in the driveway and it was delightful!! I miss going out with friends.
Now I'm watching some dumb movie on Netflix and this lawyer said her mission is to help the helpless, and wasn't that Angel?
Are her rats low?
The folks in my dad's office (he's retired but president of the board of an RCD so RCD people are his coworkers) gave him a surprise drive by birthday party yesterday. He was super touched and my mom thinks that is how all parties should be forever. I did make it here by teatime and we picked up salmon dinners downtown and ate at either end of the extended dining room table to maintain distance and it was lovely. We still have cupcakes to eat but we are all too full of salmon just yet.
Are her rats low?
Ha!
What's an RCD?
I was hoping the new Netflix Home Edit show would be my new soothing favorite as they organize shit, but no, I find them way way too annoying. Sigh.
-t, I'm glad the day got better after the flat tire. Those are never convenient.
meara, a friend has told me she finds The Repair Shop to be a soothing watch. I'm not sure which platform it's on.
