The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

Were there a lot of 15-minute segments labeled "not reported" or "missing" or "TBD"?

I HOPE SO.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

Gris, I'm with you on that. Like, we're supposed to do all the same amounts of time working with kids as before, but mostly remotely, and now we have to coordinate with parents and document every bit of that communication, and we can only work from home 2 days a week, but we're supposed to wear masks all the time we're on campus, so doing tele-session with masks, and then we have to fill out what are apparently monthly forms with a breakdown of benefits and drawbacks of work from home and how our time was spent.

We also have all out usual meetings, plus at least 1 COVID meeting for every student that's supposed to happen in the next month. And I have to be out of my office by 330 for sanitizing...even though I'm supposed to work till at least 4, and meetings often go even later.

I hate my job a lot right now, and the upper levels of admin are being not helper monkeys. Not even hinder monkeys. They are being harmer monkeys.

Hey. New board.

My life isn't close to as hard as that. That sucks a lot. God the crises really pull out the bureaucracy.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

No, we do not have break down the time within the days, just hours per day and then hours within that on COVID related things.

Here's the long version: Each pay period we submit hours worked on COVID broken down by employee, but the time per employee is just a two week #, so like me, who 90-100% of my work is COVID related has a sheet that says

Date 1-Date 2 - My Name - 34 hours - list of COVID work done

2 weeks ago all Budget office tells everyone, so yeah, have those signed timesheets with daily listings of COVID work for audit purposes. My boss was like, did we all do that? And I was like NOPE! so we tell all division chiefs to have employees do that backdated to cover our audit butts (we have their 2 week totals to work off of). No timeline given on that, just get it done.

Now BIG BOSS has never submitted her own time for this. I asked early on and she said she would ask if Directors were to be included and she never sent in her time (she is copied on the final report I send in). At this mtg 2 weeks ago, they say that Directors should have been submitting their time. I put together a sheet for her with all the pay periods we have already submitted and she gets hers to me - it has VERY LITTLE TIME ON IT - like 10 hours for 2 weeks. I know she worked more than that, but (as you might have guessed) questioning her is not a great thing, so I submit as she sent (AGAIN, she is copied).

Now, her boss - the BIG BIG BOSS - asks all her reporting Directors to do the day by day break out. That is what starts this whole confusion. A time sheet is sent to BIG BOSS from BIG BIG BOSS's asst. that says fill these out and get back. With NO EXPLANATION she sends that email to me and co-worker. Questions I had: who is this for? everyone? this is not the form we have been using, can we use our form instead? - we ask asst, asst does not know - she says ask you budget person or BIG BOSS. Budget person does not get back with us, BIG BOSS restates to ask asst. - this is what gets pushed up to a higher up in Budget this morning.

- In btw all that co-worker and my boss and I have been emailing back and forth and co-worker has been making some assumptions and we are all hoping that we can just use the forms already done and we are frantically working to get these completed for ourselves and other employees.

I ask co-worker at one point, is BIG BOSS doing hers? - and she responded with I guess - this is the problem EVERYONE is SUPER hesitant to ask BIG BOSS anything that would clear things up.

I had even put in an email to my boss explaining all that needed to get done "and then there is Big Boss's time which is not broken down by day" and she didn't tel me to get started in it.

When Budget higher up gets involved, it takes 3 emails to figure out that ONLY a broken down sheet for BIG BOSS is needed. I email that out to ppl and that is when we go the ----JUST DO WHAT I ASKED---- email from BIG BOSS. So I did. I jumped in and took those #s she had given me before and broke them out over days. What she had given me before totaled 83 hours from 3/16 - 6/30. Co-worker was like - "um I think those need to be beefed up, I know she worked more than that" - I was like great - have at it, it is due in 20 minutes, but this will no longer match what we already submitted.

I send Big Boss the beefed up #s one and she sent back "I changed some of the numbers – please make sure it aligns with what you've sent to (Budget person) in the past so she can make the adjustments."

If you have read this far - what would you think that meant to do? The report is now late btw, so you(me) are beyond frazzled and I think it is understood that I am also furious.

----to be continued

Our wings are not tired.

Oh Debet, that sounds awful. They need to go away with msbelle's monkeys.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

Where we left off

I got email "I changed some of the numbers – please make sure it aligns with what you've sent to (Budget person) in the past so she can make the adjustments."

if you thought that means to further adjust her # on this current sheet to align with what had already been submitted - well, you and I and co-worker - all agree AND we would be wrong.

What she meant was make changes to the spreadsheet you sent in 2 weeks ago to match these new numbers I have decided on. Where her old sheet totaled 83 hours, the new one totals 362.

BUT, like I said, that is not what I thought she meant, so I changed the #s on the sheet she had signed to match the old #s and sent it in. And then I sent her an email saying "this is what I did since you said match them match. and also another one of these is due next Fri, so I will start on that now and get it to you soon" (To try to avoid this clusterfuck was implied).

And then she calls me. And it is clear I read the email wrong and I say, yep, I will change it back and send a corrected email and say it is all my fault. Which is what I do.

And then I sent an email to BIG BOSS and co-worker and my boss and I say - I submitted your original signed form (attachment 1). Am I correct in understanding that you now want me to change the hours you had submitted 2 weeks ago (attachment 2) to match up with the hours in Attachment 1 and submit those to Budget?

This is the only way I will proceed with work for the next few weeks. I will feed it back to them all in an email and wait for confirmation in writing that I am satisfied with.

I also learned today that our Jabber does not save conversations. That is going to limit how much I use that.

And now I am drinking. I do not think it would be wise for me to do any text-banking tonight.

After reading all that I need a drink, msbelle! I'm sorry. Also, Dag.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

That does not sound feasible, Debet!

OMFG msbelle. I would be curled up in a corner crying.

I'm supposed to be on vacation in 20 minutes. Guess how much work I have left to do? If you guessed more than 20 minutes, you would be right.
