"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I want to hear LDB from a rock band with a kick-ass drummer, just to liven it up a bit. Let's really hear that drummer play for him.

This is the drummingest version I know: [link]

The Flaming Lips have a version out there. I don't think it's very drum heavy, though? Guitar forward.

Jack in the Box has a Pumpkin Spice shake made with real pumpkin - pretty good!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

If you catch the Ben Folds holiday special on PBS in a couple of weeks, you can see him do the Bing/Bowie version with a tap dancer. FYI.

Our wings are not tired.

I spent some time trying the various holiday jazz stations available in the car. Not quite accustomed to the new streaming service after years of Sirius, but getting there. I did not get any jazzy LDB in my travels though.

This Friday morning I did at least remember to listen to the Breakfast of Champions stream on my computer, and for this I am more awake for my tasks at hand.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I've put together an LDB-free playlist for the car. But I'm still vulnerable while shopping and otherwise out in the world, so I figure it isn't really cheating

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Today I learned that "unlimited" PTO really means "basically what you had before, plus or minus maybe a day." So I guess it doesn't matter that we're going back to non-unlimited PTO.

I looked at job listings yesterday, and everything sounded so boring it made me want to cry. Not that this job isn't boring, but I at least have seniority and good pay and plenty of vacation, so boohoo for me.

Dana, that's kinda where I am. At my company I get lots of vacation and am about to get more based on how long I've been there. So I'm thinking maybe if I could find an internal transfer? But not real hopeful.

It's 7:45am and I'm already all "this fuckin' day" for just tiny things, mostly my own stupidity, but GAH

Mostly I finally got my new heel cushions into shoes that I can get on my feet with the cushions and I can't tell if my feet hurt now because I have to get used to this new configuration or if I am maybe making everything worse, but every step = OW

msbelle, I'm sorry things with Mac are so hard. If he's still thinking about the military, or you are on his behalf, don't forget the Coast Guard. They get good training, get to live all over the country, have a mission that anyone can support, and don't have to worry much about getting shot at...
