passes big mug of coffee through interweb to ND. Shhh, don't tell but I put a shot in there too.
adds cookies to the coffee
already had my weekly staff mtg - queen of bad specific instructions (big boss) and queen of never giving a timeline (my boss) - converged to let me know project I was given last week should be to the next phase by now and I should be doing more on it than I thought - gotcha - THANKS!
So I must remember to ask my boss - "when do you want this done?" at every interaction.
Big Boss is just a communication nightmare at the moment, so I am just keeping my distance. I clearly ruffled feathers yesterday by daring to ask the straightforward questions that made clear that other people above us has not asked ANY questions and so they did not really know what was needed or why. How dare I question being asked to do double work that may not even be needed.
also, I am in a foul mood, did I mention that?
FUCK THE WORLD!
Ugh, msbelle. Fie on your bosses
Irish coffee sounds really good right now. I guess my instant pumpkin spice latte will have to do (I did regret buying it when I realized there were only 4 packets in the box, but it is pretty tasty)
Mmmm, Irish coffee is a very good plan. Alas, the coffee part is all I have here. I was going to have eggs for breakfast, but they were all gone. Instead I had blueberry eggos with warmed frozen blueberries on top. That ended up being pretty darn tasty.
TCG takes ltc to school on Fridays, so I'm sitting here having my second cup of tea and eating cinnamon toast in my pjs.
sj - that sounds lovely.
my bosses aren't bad - this is at least 50% me. I am not my best self and certainly not my best employee at the moment, but venting is important so that I do not get myself fired.
Thankfully my bosses really are team players when someone says "but wouldn't doing this be better than going to the trouble of doing all that?" If it doesn't go directly against procedural instructions from a client, they're all for time- and labor-saving solutions. (Though I do have to occasionally step in with outside subcontractors and push for giving clients what they actually asked for rather than what would be easier and look better.)
That marinated artichokes suggestion sounds really yummy... I may have to consider if it's worth a trip to the grocery store for that alone tonight. If not, I do have an avocado, some mustard greens, and more about-to-turn tomatoes than I can eat today (better ones will be available at the farmers market tomorrow), so I may make a big salad with those ingredients. I guess I've always thought of quinoa as a starchy side like couscous rather than a salad ingredient, but it makes sense.

I eat it as a starchy side if I cook it in chicken broth or vegetable broth. It's only if I cook it in plain water that I use it as a salad base.
