Well fuck us all, the Senate has once again failed to pass any sort of aid. Fuck them, just fucking fuck them.

It is unbelievable. There are times to be fiscally conservative and during a national emergency is not one of those times.

Just got out being on the other side of a job interview. It's funny how when I'm the interviewee, I'm like "I've got to nail every question", but when I'm the interviewer, I'm like "They were in the ballpark and that's good enough."

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

So, ltc has started to say "shiny!"

'*Love*

UGH to the Senate! Dammit.

I used to try keeping a kudos document but I will forget it is there for long stretches making it useless. I do try to file anything like that I get in an email to a "kudos" folder, but this was all by phone so there's no real record. I guess I could file the email that kicked it off, maybe that will spark my memory when the time comes...

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

the Senate has once again failed to pass any sort of aid.

Yes, it is so ridiculously short sighted. I have no idea what they're thinking.

ETA: And it sent the market back into the red, so it's not even like their big money buddies are going to thank them for it.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

I stopped by the CVS on the way home, and it turned out they're doing on-the-spot flu vaccinations, so with only a minor (5 minutes?) wait I got mine in. Which is good, because this year, work is requiring proof that you got one or else fill out a document saying why you can't.

For at least a few minutes I feel all full of virtue.

Our wings are not tired

At this point it's just political fighting. It's all idealism and meanwhile the country burns.

"...and then Legolas and the Hulk destroy the entire Greek army." - Penny Arcade

Who's hosting Mystery! on PBS these days? After Vincent Price and Diana Rigg, they may have a target on their backs.....

I don't know whose hosting Mystery, but an actor I like from Hustle is playing a Dutch (I think) detective, so I may tune in and find out...man, I am behind on those

I signed up to get a work-sponsored flu shot in a couple of weeks. They have someone from Costco, I think, come out every year and give us the shots on site, which is convenient, but this year I'm a little concerned how we will manage to stay socially distanced for that...although last time I got one through this I was the only person besides the person giving the shots who was in the lunch room at the time, so maybe that worry is misplaced.
